Bartholet Marks Mainstream Movie Release, Heads to Exxxotica

LOS ANGELES—Adult performer James Bartholet, a two-time winner for Best Non-Sex Performance at the AVN Awards, has a role in an mainstream movie that was just released on the Fourth of July holiday. Titled Hitchhiker Massacre, the movie was produced by Retro Focus Films and distributed by Green Apple Entertainment. A grindhouse mainstream horror movie, it is screening in select theaters and will be coming soon to cable. As the title suggests, Hitchhiker Massacre follows a maniacal killer who picks up young women who are out thumbing a ride. Bartholet plays Woody, a record executive who meets a brutal end while camping in a desolated mountain area. Bartholet, who was also an associate producer on the project, notes that one of his costars is Penthouse Pet Layla Sin. “We had a real fun time filming this, but it was pretty grueling filming out on location. I think horror fans will love our homage to the classic grindhouse movie style,” Bartholet said. The movie was directed by James L. Bills and stars two actors with illustrious grandparents: John Blyth Barrymore and Calista Carradine (descendents, respectively of John Barrymore and John Carradine). Bartholet will be at the Galaxy booth alongside a crew of adult stars, and he will host several seminars, including his popular presentation on porn parodies, which takes place on Sunday. Bartholet recently appeared in projects for Gamma Films and Public Handjobs., as well as new content scenes.
