Brett Rossi Discusses Porn Comeback

LOS ANGELES—Brett Rossi decided to approach her return to porn a lot like she has tackled her personal life in recent months—without holding anything back. Her new showcase Delicious features the former Twistys contract performer, Penthouse Pet and Playboy Cyber Girl in four hardcore encounters unlike any she’s done so far.   Calling the project “not only the rebirth of my career, but me personally,” the 26-year-old star kicked off her new exclusive, boy/girl performing contract with TRENCHCOATx with a nothing-to-lose attitude. “Go big or go home,” Rossi told AVN. A native of Fontana, Calif., who did runway modeling as a teen and worked at a mattress store before porn, Rossi entered this new phase of her career with a body of work consisting of almost 100 girl/girl scenes and just one previous boy/girl since her porn debut in 2010.  But in Delicious Rossi performs with guys in all four vignettes, appearing in separate tussles with Manuel Ferrara and Charles Dera, her first three-way with two men—Tommy Gunn and Dera—and her first blowbang in which she takes on seven guys. “I feel like I was so suppressed, even when I was in the business when I did girl/girl,” said Rossi, who came back in December after a two-and-a-half year hiatus.  “I was always in a relationship where I was forced to suppress my sexual curiosity and my fantasies. So with Delicious I wanted to explore all of my fantasies and also shock people. I didn’t want to slowly transition. I want to make a splash when I come back this time.” Rossi’s return is happening at the same time as her high-profile litigation with Charlie Sheen, her ex-fiancee whom she filed suit against in December, accusing the actor of assault and battery, emotional distress, false imprisonment and negligence. She also said that Sheen hid his HIV-positive status from her while engaging in unprotected sex with her. Sheen responded with court documents asking that Rossi's suit be dismissed with prejudice and now an arbitrator will decide if the suit must be resolved in arbitration or sent back to a judge.   “I am just speaking up for everyone who is too scared to have a voice and it doesn’t matter if it’s a celebrity or someone with a lot of money and power,” Rossi said. “A lot of women who are in abusive relationships are very scared to speak up. People ask me, ‘well if he was so abusive why didn’t you speak up?’ Who the fuck is going to believe me? He can pay off anyone. I witnessed a lot of things that people with that amount of money can get away with. The things that I witnessed were mind-boggling for somebody that grew up in Fontana.” Rossi’s relationship with Sheen started in November 2013 and ended in October 2014. But after he went public with his HIV status on Nov. 17, 2015, and backed out of a settlement agreement with Rossi, she moved forward with her lawsuit.  “It was very hard to come out and be all over national television and say this is what happened to me. The reason why women don’t speak up is they’re afraid of what everyone said about me: ‘She’s a liar. Why didn’t she do X, Y and Z?’” Rossi explained. “I did it not only for the women who suffer in silence in hopes that it gives them strength to speak up, I did it for my own sanity. This was something that I had to heal from and the first step of healing is admitting what happened and not taking blame for it. I used to blame myself up until the day I came out and admitted publicly on national television what he did to me.”  Rossi said going into the relationship she was “a very confident, independent person.” “When I left that relationship I was a shell of a person I used to be. I was a completely different person. So it’s crazy but you learn from those experiences,” she added. “I definitely don’t regret it because that was somebody that I loved and wanted to marry. But unfortunately when someone is an addict you can’t control their decisions and their actions. I’m really proud that I did that and I don’t give a fuck what people say. I really don’t, because at the end of the day I feel so much better. I let the truth out.” She also noted, “a lot of people jump to conclusions without reading the lawsuit.” “If people sat and read line by line by line, the details are very vivid. I talk about things such as what I was wearing, what he was wearing. What exact item. Where it happened. What time it happened. Because I kept a journal,” Rossi said. “People that don’t believe me, well, read the lawsuit. Because there’s no way someone could bullshit the things that I listed in my lawsuit.” Rossi emphasized she does not have HIV and took every precaution to insure she was safe before returning to adult.  “That is the reason why I didn’t just come back to porn. I wanted to be responsible,” she said. “Even though I was tested on a regular basis when I was with him. I was tested every three months. Just as he was tested every three months for his levels, I was tested when we were in our relationship and I was on the PrEP treatment. But, that’s not a guarantee.” PrEP, which stands for Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis, is a way for people who don't have HIV but who are at high risk of getting it to prevent infection by taking a pill every day.  “So when we broke up the reason why I didn’t just jump back into porn—I could’ve capitalized on his name and our relationship—but it was something… I truly cared about this person,” Rossi continued.  “Also, I knew what he had and I didn’t want to put anyone in jeopardy. I had one sexual relationship during the time we broke up and the time I started porn. It ate me away because I couldn’t legally tell this person, ‘hey, I was engaged to someone that has HIV.’ But I kept testing negative and after about a year I said, well, I’m in the clear now. I’m not going to put anyone in danger. And it was important for me not to put anyone in danger.” Still, Rossi realizes there now are misconceptions out there about her that she deals with on a weekly basis. “I know a lot of clubs have cancelled bookings because of my association with Charlie. It’s been difficult and I think it’s unfair,” Rossi said, adding that an HIV-positive diagnosis is like “a scarlet letter.” Rossi said with today’s advanced testing that a person will know whether he has HIV in “anywhere from three to six months at the latest.” “But what a lot of people do misunderstand because they think and they’ll read, ‘oh the testing is so advanced you’ll find out within a week of exposure.’ That is true, but some people’s immune systems are a lot stronger. HIV can stay dormant without being traced, now, according to my research and I worked with the best doctors, for up to a year,” Rossi said. Rossi took PrEP for a year-and-a-half. “When I was tested I wanted to make sure it wasn’t a false negative,” she added. “Because when you’re on the cocktail you can test negative when in fact you’re positive because the cocktail drops your numbers so low—your viral load. So I wanted to make sure that I wasn’t going to put anyone in danger. And I wanted to make sure of that in my personal life, too.” Rossi continued, “And I think a year’s worth of testing negative is a lot better than somebody else testing negative after they were with somebody who tested positive a month ago. And it’s still hard when I find out that I don’t get work, like when clubs cancel me because of my association with Charlie. And Charlie has HIV and HIV isn’t sexy. “It sucks logging onto your Instagram and your Twitter and seeing every single day, ‘haha she has HIV.’ Haha? Are you fucking kidding? Even if I did have HIV how could you laugh at something like that? What Charlie did was wrong, but I would never wish that on anyone.” Rossi said she was aware that nothing would be the same for her after Sheen went public. “I knew when he was coming out with it my life was going to change and I was very angry at him… our lawsuit was sealed in the courts because it was two public personas and we had settled on an agreement,” she said. “And then when he came out he decided to say fuck everyone, including me and then label me an extortionist, but the funny thing is we had a lawsuit prepared. It was just sealed. His team was the one who wanted to go into mediation. They were the ones who were begging us not to file it publicly. And there was still a side of me who cared about him and his kids and I didn’t want that to come out.” “Because if I would’ve filed it publicly, everyone would’ve been like wait a minute, what, he has fucking HIV? But I didn’t. Then when he came out and he thought he could fuck me over I had to publicly file what happened and it was embarrassing because my family members did not know. My mom knew he was HIV-positive, but my family didn’t know. They thought that I was living a princess life. My friends didn’t know. Everyone thought that I had this princess life, everything was great. And then you read the gruesome details and it’s like whoa.”  Now that she’s back in porn and feature dancing every couple weeks, she has other surprises in store. She said she’s thankful for TRENCHCOATx co-owner Kayden Kross and Manuel Ferrara “taking me under their wing.”  “I’m really excited for Delicious. We worked really hard and it’s different than any porn out there. People look at me as this girl next door, really sweet and innocent because that is the image that I portray. I’m still that image in this movie but there’s a new side of my character Brett Rossi that you discover in the movie,” Rossi teased. “It starts out really clean and then it turns into this very dirty movie towards the end. Because they’re all vignettes and the last scene that we filmed was the seven-guy blowbang and I was in this white box wearing this gorgeous lingerie. And it was kind of very Alice in Wonderland-ish. And all the dicks were covered in pastel frosting.  “I have never done a blowbang. I’ve never done anything like this. I’ve never ever done a boy/boy/girl in my personal life. So this was all new to me. … So it’s important for me to explore these all on camera because I’m all about authenticity. Everything you see in Delicious is raw and real.” Rossi said even though her boy/boy/girl was challenging it was also exciting. “Because there’s something about Tommy Gunn that’s very calming so during the scene he made me feel very confident. And it was my first time working with him. And it was my second time working with Charles so there was already a comfort zone there,” she added. “But it’s a learning process. I definitely did not walk on set like I know what the fuck I’m doing! There were times where I was overwhelmed but it was nice to have two pros. I’m very submissive in my personal life when it comes male-female sex. Whereas if it’s me with another woman I’m very dominant. “I liked that Charles and Tommy took charge. With the blowbang it was so crazy because I kind of went into this euphoric state where I didn’t even remember the cameras were there and I just did what I do best. Like I prefer giving blowjobs, that’s my thing. So anyone who dates me, they’re like, ‘yes!’ Because I could do it all day.” Rossi also shared her admiration for Kross and Stoya, the TRENCHCOATx partners who co-directed Delicious. “Kayden’s always been this mentor to me and she’s kind of like a big sister to me. She’s so business savvy and she’s a great performer,” Rossi said. “What’s so great about her is not only is she a great performer but she has kept longevity and popularity parallel to each other which is very hard to maintain in the business. … With Kayden this is a career so everything’s very calculated. “And I think that’s what I admire about her because I’m very calculated. And then with Stoya I really like her creative mind so I like to just watch her direct things. I’m not a creative person, all I can do is write.” Speaking or writing, Rossi recently began contributing a regular column to the Sex and Dating section of culture and entertainment website thrillist.com. She’s also about half done with a book series she started in 2013 called Lemonade. “It’s a fictional series loosely based off my life, but it’s about a girl named Jane,” Rossi explained. “But what I really like about Lemonade is it’s told in real time. So the first book is Lemonade. The second book is Hard Lemonade and the third book is Pink Lemonade.  “The thought process behind it, when I originally started writing it I was still with Charlie. It was not going to be a trashy tell-all memoir. It was just a trilogy series loosely based on my life. And the moral of the story was that you can start over as many times as you want in life to get what you’re working towards.” The central character Jane becomes a superstar in the book. “It’s all written in flashbacks. At the beginning of the book a guy that’s like Howard Stern is interviewing her and he asks, ‘what’s next?’ and she says, ‘I quit,’” Rossi continued. “And then the book goes back to the very beginning of her life.” While she remains in talks with a couple of well-known publishers for the book rights she recently started a blog called Brett Rossi’s Lemonade and intends to begin releasing chapters of the book there. “I feel this was very important to teach women in my age bracket that hey it’s ok, because you can restart as many times as you want and then it was important for younger girls to not be scared to express themselves,” Rossi said. “It’s not encouraging people to go into porn but it’s encouraging people to explore sides that may be a little bit scary to want to explore.” From being discovered by “Playboy Morning Show” host Andrea Lowell at the Playboy Mansion to becoming Miss Howard Stern, diving into porn, quitting and then meeting Sheen, the past nine years of Rossi’s life have been anything but predictable. But armed with her new outlook and the perspective of time, she admitted “everything has always fallen into place.” “I don’t know how I get myself into the positions I do, but it always seems to work out in the end,” Rossi said.
