Ted Cruz Pulls Ad Due to Appearance by Softcore Actress

LOS ANGELES—Republican presidential candidate Ted Cruz has pulled a campaign ad because it included an appearance by a softcore actress named Amy Lindsay. The Texas senator's campaign confirmed Thursday that it had yanked the spot that was targeted at Florida Sen. Marco Rubio over illegal immigration because of Lindsay's film credits. Lindsay's resume includes appearances in Deviant Whores, Co-Ed Confidential, Sex-Games Vegas, The Erotic Traveler and The Sex Spa, among more than a dozen other B-movie credits. The ad, titled "Conservatives Anonymous," featured a staged self-help session in which voters lamented their past support for Rubio.  Lindsay played a woman who tells another group member, "Maybe you should vote for more than just a pretty face next time." Lindsay said on her Twitter feed, "Extremely disappointed the #TedCruz campaign pulled the national television spot I had a role in," hashtagging "#MyVoteCounts." Cruz campaign spokesman Rick Tyler told Fox News that Lindsay had responded to an open casting call for the ad.  "Unfortunately, she was not vetted by the production company," Tyler said. "Had the campaign known of her full filmography, we obviously would not have let her appear in the ad."
