Cinnamon Maxxine Is TROUBLEfilms Artist in Residence, Gets Grant

This week, Cinnamon Maxxine became the Artist in Residence for TROUBLEfilms for the creation of a full length film they will conceptualize beginning to end, and own. With access to Courtney Trouble’s studio equipment and a budget of $4,500, Cinnamon Maxxine will be able to complete a well-produced "people of color" (POC) adult film embracing seduction, sex work, passion, and power. Cinnamon Maxxine is a long time collaborator, long time friend, and current roommate of Courtney Trouble. “The connection and trust shines through the work we have been making all along, and no doubt will set an amazing foundation for Cinnamon’s incredible plans to get their long time directorial goals reached.” Cinnamon proposed a project that spoke from the heart, transcending the commercial standards of pornography and keeping TROUBLEfilms’s artistic, political films at the center of production. “I want to focus on making porn featuring an all POC cast, as well as showing a spectrum of genders, bodies, and body sizes and influenced a little by my work as a stripper,” wrote Cinnamon. “I’m really looking forward to learning directing skill and doing more behind the camera.” While TROUBLEfilms owner Courtney Trouble works towards a Master's degree, the company has been featuring new directors for the past six months, including Chelsea Poe (Submissive Mixtape, Fucking Mystic), April Flores (Fat Girl Fantasies), and Ajapornfilms (Trans Grrrls, Trans Lesbians). These scenes, along with Trouble’s entire catalog, can be watched at TroubleFilms.Com, or on any of the sister sites. “TROUBLEfilms is about new, powerful ideas, and confronting the oppressive defaulted norms of popular culture," Trouble said. "Being able to do something as big as fund an entire film for another artist may not be possible all the time, but it is worth it to me to solidify the tradition of making powerfully queer films that our community desires and deserves in a town that’s full of incredible queer people who enjoy the art of this work, and the work of this art.” Cinnamon Maxxine will own all rights to the production materials created throughout her residency, as well as have her work sold through RealQueerPorn.com and promoted through the TROUBLEfilms social platform.
