CalOSHA Likely to Take Up Health Code Revisions at Feb. Meeting

OAKLAND, Calif.—According to information received by attorney Karen Tynan, who has represented several adult companies charged with infractions by CalOSHA, the CalOSHA Standards Board will have its next meeting on February 18, and although no agenda has yet been published for the meeting, it is considered likely that the Board will vote on the proposed revisions to the California Health Code, new Section 5193.1, at that meeting. Based on the Board's response to comments from Free Speech Coalition and others (as noted here), the revision/addition is likely to pass. The meeting is scheduled to take place in the auditorium of the Harris State Building, 1515 Clay Street in Oakland, CA 94612, at 10 a.m. As AVN has previously noted, among the changes that Section 5193.1 would create are a requirement that condoms and other "barrier protections" be used for all sexual contact including blowjobs and pussy-licking (though those latter requirements may be suspended until January 1, 2018 depending on certain circumstances); testing, treatment and preventive measures (including barriers and vaccines) must be paid for by the "employer"; and "employers" (producers) must keep records of all sexual activity taking place under their authority. The Standards Board meeting is open to the public.
