OK, so that’s probably not how it went down in Macy Gray’s head, but something inspired the Grammy Award-winning R&B songstress to pen “B.O.B.” which is a tribute to her battery-operated boyfriend. “He can go all night, dark until the light, and we stop when I want to,” Gray sings. It might be easy to chalk “B.O.B.” up as a novelty song, especially since the official video features an animated vibrator in short shorts. But Gray told Elle she hopes the song will empower women. Women always "have to be so private about [their sexuality] and their periods, whereas guys can just talk about their penises and whatever,” she told the magazine. “Girls always have to be so ladylike about it. I hope girls can start talking ... and just say the crudest stuff."
