Cytherea Announces Return to Shooting

LAS VEGAS—Veteran performer Cytherea, who claimed AVN's Best New Starlet trophy in 2005, announced via a video posted Friday to YouTube that she has scheduled her first new adult shoot following an alleged home invasion and assault she suffered last January, for which multiple individuals have been charged. Cytherea did not indicate who the shoot would be for, but said it will take place next week in Las Vegas and that the booking is interracial. She said this carries significance for her because "I don't know if you know anything about my case, but it was by ... interracial ... and I just want to show it's not the color, it's the person that made that choice, and I kind of feel like it's a bold statement, it's kind of an empowerment for me, kind of telling those guys, 'Fuck you.'" Three teenagers—Qumaire Rainey, 18; Edward London, 17; and Casey Franks, 16—were indicted March 25 by a Clark County grand jury in connection with the alleged violations against Cytherea January 19. All three have been charged as adults, and according to TheRealPornWikileaks.com are set to stand trial on the charges July 27. A fourth defendant, Latoine Morris, 21, was arraigned April 16 in connection with the case as well. All four defendants have pleaded not guilty. A fundraising campaign to help Cytherea recover from this incident ran for more than a month from February to April, backed by several industry supporters including Rebecca Love, Joclyn Stone and Mercedes Carrera, and raising a final total of $21,319. Cytherea is now represented by Las Vegas-based Glamour Talent.
