Toni Ribas Joins Evil Angel

VAN NUYS, Calif.—AVN Hall of Fame director/producer/performer Toni Ribas has signed on as the newest member of the esteemed Evil Angel roster. An 21-year industry veteran, Ribas has directed more than 100 movies since 2001 for studios including Red Light District, Elegant Angel Productions, Penthouse and Private. Most recently he had returned to Elegant Angel. "From my point of view as a performer/director, it was always a dream," the Spanish Renaissance man told AVN. "I cannot be any happier, because John [Stagliano, Evil Angel owner] knows movies, and my only worry now is to really make good movies and focus on what I do. I know I'm at the right place that if I do a good job, he can make it work. For me, in a way it's like an award to get recognized by John. Just that, it makes me feel really happy." Ribas has a humble view on his own success in the industry. "I never thought that I would make it this far," he said. "I have a normal-sized dick ... I'm not Rocco or Nacho, but I always managed, and with Private I was doing OK, and I always was trying to find my spot. It was a dream to go to John, but I never thought, 'OK, I'm ready.' "And I was with Elegant, it was doing good," he continued, "but Elegant got sold and things changed there and I said, 'OK, now is the time.'" At that point, Ribas sent Stagliano a movie he already had in the can, All Stuffed Up, for distribution consideration. The movie, he explained, is an all-d.p. anthology as performed entirely by "the Spaniards"—himself and Ramon Nomar. "I wanted to do that, just a movie of me and Ramon," Ribas said. "I know that we work good together, and if the girls are into it, we can bring it to a little bit higher level, get a little bit crazy and get lost in there. So I had the movie, and I said, 'I'm just going to show it to John, because if I don't do it now, I don't know when I'm going to do it.'" Stagliano of course approved, and it's not hard to see why: the girls on the receiving end of the Ribas/Nomar  double-barrellings are 2015 AVN Best New Starlet Carter Cruise, 2014 Performer of the Year Bonnie Rotten, 2015 Best Star Showcase winner Vicki Chase, and 2015 Performer of the Year nominee Veruca James. "Originally they were all going to be girls that were d.p. nominated, but with the last girl I had a cancellation and I got Veruca, [who] wasn't," Ribas explained. "Because I wanted to make all girls that had been nominated for d.p. and put them up to the Spaniards' test. Carter did double vag, Bonnie did double anal, Vicki did double vag and double anal; Veruca, she killed it, she was amazing. Veruca I love because she, from a performance point of view, she's a girl that makes you look good always. She lets you put her in the right positions, it's so easy to work with her and make it look good." All Stuffed Up is scheduled to release May 20. Saying he found it "amazing," Stagliano offered, "I could see from this movie and others [Ribas] had directed that he captures beautiful girls in a charismatic, sexual way. His scenes are state of the art porn in the U.S.A. (done by a Spaniard!) with hard sex, done with loving fun." Ribas has not yet decided on what his follow-up will be, but he expects to release a second title through Evil in July. "I have many ideas," he said. "I know I want to do something with squirting because [Elegant Angel title Bonnie Rotten Is Squirtwoman] did good and they don't have much squirting movies there. I want to do maybe something with Nuru. I want to do something with airtight, having three guys in there. I have so many ideas, but I know this is the trickiest part for me, so I don't want to rush into doing the lines. "What I know for sure is what I want, what I always like," he asserted. "Me, I like to show the girl as pretty as possible, and I like to get the intention; get something that works for them sexually. That's why I love Patrick [Collins, founder of Elegant Angel] so much, because he had like a gift to talk to girls. He would get the girls to do things for him, get them to want to please him in a way. I have my different style, I cannot do what he [did], but try to create that climate and get the girl to get lost in there. And for the sex, I just like to capture it normally; I just like to let them go, because the good stuff happens. And you have to be there when it happens." Above all, Ribas feels a sense of security planting his roots at Evil that he can't imagine having almost anywhere else. "I'm not getting any younger," he said. "I'm 39, I'll be 40 in a couple of months, so I would like to be in a place where maybe I can be stable, where I can work and also not rely so much on performing, because one day it's going to finish for me. Hopefully not soon ... I mean, I will never be the one to say I'm retiring. If they book me, I'll work. But I need to have something. Even though at Evil you have to own again, like I used to own my movies at Red Light, at least if I do OK, I know it's a company that will give me peace of mind."
