Adult Retailer Amazing Intimate Essentials Accepting ApplePay

CRANSTON, R.I.—Adult retail chain Amazing Intimate Essentials has become the first adult retailer to embrace Apple’s ApplePay. The Amazing Intimate Essentials stores announced Friday that they have partnered with CYBEX Systems to bring full NFC, contactless payment processing to their entire chain of stores. The news follows the media frenzy surrounding Apple's ApplePay NFC payment system, announced in September. "Amzing is America's No. 1 Intimate Product Retailer—we consider it a responsibility to customers to pioneer new retail trends in this industry…ApplePay and NFC in general is certainly one of these trends," said Alexander Guarino, director of business development. "Contactless payment via near field communication will not only maximize security in the transactions our customers make—it will make them more private in every way. Eventually a customer at one of our locations will be able to discretely charge a purchase and not be required to show any ID or sign any receipt—everyone values privacy, and our customers are certainly no exception.” Payment through Near Field Communication systems is standard in Europe and throughout much of the world today. The United States is expected to see significant conversion to NFC systems. Security is improved greatly by eliminating the sharing of sensitive information, such as card numbers, name and other personal details. More than 30 Amzing stores throughout New England will begin accepting NFC payments this fall.
