Interview: Tera Patrick Goes On the Air with Vivid Radio

LOS ANGELES—One of the adult industry's top-tier entertainers, Tera Patrick hasn't been in a hardcore scene for several years, but she still has plenty of hardcore fans. Patrick was already on our minds this month with the release of the mainstream movie Live Nude Girls, in which she has a role, so we were intrigued to hear that she was returning to Vivid in September. Well, returning to Vivid Radio, that is—to host a month's worth of weekly radio shows at the studio where she performed as a Vivid Girl starting in 2003. A former international fashion model of Thai and English descent, Patrick began her adult caeer in 1999. Along the way she picked up many accolades, including an AVN Award for Best New Starlet in 2000. She eventually went on to co-own the studio Teravision with her ex-husband, Evan Seinfeld. For the past five years Patrick has put her time into more mainstream pursuits, including various appearances at comics and pop culture fan events. She's also been busy with family life, after giving birth in 2012 to a baby girl. AVN checked in briefly with the statuesque beauty to find out what she has in store for fans. What is the name of the show you are doing for www.VividRadio.com this month? And what do you have planned—topics of conversation, guests, etc.? We aren't announcing the name yet, but I'll be on September 3, 10, 17 and 24 for one full hour each time from 4 to 5 p.m. PT. Topics are going to revolve around the exciting events and projects I have coming up. I also welcome the opportunity to talk candidly with my fans! You've made various mainstream appearances—video games, a music video, radio and television shows, and even an Indonesian horror movie. But Live Nude Girls was your first mainstream movie role. How was the experience? It was so much fun! I play the villainess, which is what attracted me to this role initially. It's fun to play the bad girl! We are EXCLUSIVE on Xbox right now, which is great! We had a huge red carpet premiere/screening in Hollywood, California, this past week [August 12]. I'm so excited for everyone to see Live Nude Girls! Tell us a little about your upcoming projects. I'm releasing my next two books in 2015 so I've been busy with that. I am active on the Comic Con circuit, which is so fun for me. I have so much going on constantly. I stay so busy, it's nice. :) What is currently your favorite way to interact with fans? I do personal appearances usually about once a month. It may be a burlesque show, opening a club, a Comic Con or Wizard World show, book readings. I just came back from my first-ever Fetish Con Show in Tampa, Florida. Which was so fun! Nothing beats interpersonal interaction! When you make personal appearances, what are fans most likely to ask you to sign: your autobiography, a DVD, a photograph or your Fleshlight? My official Tera Patrick merchandise store is AllThingsTera.net. I don't carry anything with me these days. Most fans just want to take a picture and brag! Lol What accomplishment are you proudest of in your life so far? Being a mother and a good partner. I've won every award, traveled the world many times, make great money, but having a healthy beautiful loving family trumps everything. :) In addition to your work in adult, you've also done mainstream modeling work. Is there any one image (or series) taken of you that stands out as your favorite? I'm the only adult star who's been on the cover of the USA FHM and I'm the only woman ever to be on the cover of Playboy and Penthouse (as Pet of the Year runner-up), so that's pretty cool. ;) Funny enough, one of my favorite images and jobs was being myself on Aqua Teen Hunger Force. You ran a talent agency back in 2006. What advice would you give to girls entering the business? Read my memoir, Sinner Takes All! It's noted on Wikipedia that you have a degree as a registered nurse. Do you think you will ever work in the medical field again? Actually I don't rule it out. I still dream of working in a lab and finding cures for incurable diseases. Science is my first love and fascinates me, so who knows? :)
