New Sensations' 'Erotic Stories' Films Earn Feminist Porn Awards Noms

CHATSWORTH, Calif.—New Sensations' "Erotic Stories" series has been honored with nominations for two of its films, The Submission of Emma Marx and The Temptation of Eve, for the 9th Annual Good for Her Feminist Porn Awards. The Feminist Porn Awards, whichtake place April 4 in Toronto, honor adult filmmakers whose groundbreaking work offers a fresh perspective on the sexual expression of women and anyone who finds themselves under-represented in mainstream pornography. Both award winning films are the collaboration of writer/director Jacky St. James and director/cinematographer Eddie Powell - whose work together in the feature genre has ranged from romantic comedies to edgier dramas with a focus on feminist themes. "It’s always been important for me to create strong, independent, free-thinking female protagonists—much like the characters of Eve and Emma in the nominated films,” said St. James. “New Sensations is honored to have been given such recognition from Good for Her’s Feminist Porn Awards.” The Submission of Emma Marx, recently featured on Violet Blue's website as true "eye candy, pretty porn," has enjoyed its share of accolades this past year - Best BDSM film at AVN, Best Supporting Actress at XBIZ, Best Feature film at the Erotic Lounge & Orgazmik Awards, two wins at the Fetish Film Festival in Germany (Richie Calhoun for Best Performer in a Long Film and Best DVD Cover), and two Best Acting wins from the XCritic Awards (for Penny Pax and Richie Calhoun). The film sheds a positive light on the kink subculture and expresses ideas about "sexual normalcy" being defined on the individual level, not by society's standards of it. The Temptation of Eve, winner of Best Romance Film at AVN, Best Screenplay at XBIZ and Best Actress at both AVN and XBIZ for Remy LaCroix, explores one woman's struggle navigating the challenges of a healthy relationship when faced with the temptation of a bad one. The story resonated with LaCroix who admits to having been in a similar position as 'Eve' in her own life, "There is often this allure women feel towards brooding, mysterious, unhealthy men, and they often wind up in a really bad situation because of it," she said. "For this reason, I was really enthusiastic about playing a character who recognizes what is best for her and her own happiness and actually does something about it. This movie is sending all the right messages to women." For more details about the Feminist Porn Awards, visit here.
