'One in a Million' Belle Knox Continues to Make Media Rounds

LOS ANGELES—From Playboy and XOJane to ... oh yes, AVN ... Belle Knox, the Duke undergrad who everyone now knows also moonlights as an adult performer, has been on a media tear of late, with more stops planned in both the mainstream and adult. Everyone it seems wants to ring a piece of Belle. Yesterday, the 18-year-old freshman made a pit-stop at TMZ Live, where she answered questions posed by an outraged Harvey Levin, and staffers, about her post-outing travails. Levin several times expressed indignation at the "hypocrisy" of some of Knox's less-than-complimentary fellow Dukers (Dukies?). For those unable or unwilling to watch the interview, here at about the 10 minute mark, we've transcribed it below. People interested in the Duke story and Belle Knox can also hear her tonight, when she appears along with rapper Boobie Soprano on the Amber Lynn "Rock’N’SeXXXy UnCensored" show, co-hosted by Erica McLean and broadcasting at 7pm PST on LATalkRadio.com. For this interview, listeners can call in to the studio at (323) 203-0815. Below is the TMZ Live interview conducted Wednesday with Belle Knox. It's mostly complete except for a few unintelligible words: TMZ: So, some people want you booted from school? Belle Knox: yeah, based on what I've seen on online massage boards, there's a petition going around to get me expelled from Duke. Have you heard from administrators or anyone in an official  capacity on whether they have a problem with what you're doing? The administrators have been firm in their opinion that what I'm doing is legal and I'm not breaking any rules, so they're working with me now to make sure I'm safe and to make sure I can get my education. Are you getting threats or are people heckling you on campus? Absolutely. I actually just wrote an article for XOjane about the threats that I have been subjected to. I've had people threaten to kill me. I've had students threaten to throw trash on me. I've had students threaten to "kick me in the face." So it's really, really vicious. Has anyone mentioned the hypocrisy of the guy who outed you, because obviously if he recognized you he was watching it, and yet he is going to make a big deal that you are acting in these films. Absolutely. He just reflects the hypocrisy of our entire country. Porn as you know is a $13 billion industry. There's obviously an enormous demand for it, yet I'm just being completely dragged through the mud and being met with so much viciousness, because I do pornography, something I know for a fact everyone watches or has watched. You are going to a school that has a very famous alum, an alum who is the only president in the history of our country who was impeached ... and resigned. That was Richard Nixon, who went to Duke Law School, and they have more of a problem with you than Nixon, who violated every precept of our country? Yeah, totally ... I'm a whore, an untouchable of society; that's the only way to put it. When you started doing porn while you're still in class, you had to know this was going to come out. Did you know that eventually people were going to see it and out you? Well, I admit now that it was incredibly naive for me to think I could keep this a secret. I did have a lot of people in the industry tell me that I would be found out. But I just kept assuring myself that I was just a lowly freshman. I wasn't popular, and I thought that the chances of someone suddenly seeing me in porn and recognizing me were literally one in a million. I'm just so shocked with this. I'm assuming they have rages at Duke, that they get drunk, that they do all sorts of things. It boggles my mind that they would be this judgmental. It's not computing. Thank you so much for saying that, and I think you're completely, absolutely right. I think the university really has bigger fish to fry than a girl who's working her way through college in a legal way, and I think I'm being condemned for something because it's such a stigmatized profession. I mean, literally, I'm doing what a lot of other college girls do on a Saturday night, I'm just getting paid for it. Two more quick questions. Are you going to stick it out at Duke and get your degree? Absolutely, Duke is my dream school. And are you going to keep doing porn? Absolutely, I'm going to keep doing porn and grow my career and hopefully pay for college and maybe grad school.
