Barrett Blade Returns Victorious from AVN Awards

VENICE, Calif.—Porn director Barrett Blade was up for several major awards for his work at this year's AVN Awards, including Director of the Year. But it was his most cherished series, Show No Mercy from Wicked Pictures, that took home the honor of Best Vignette Release. Based on his numerous trips to Japan for work and pleasure, Barrett created a visionary new series that brings to life the authentic experience of Cosplay in the ultimate adventure. Everything from the sets to the custom sewn costumes was one of a kind in this painstaking labor of love. “This means a lot to me,” Barrett said. “I wanted to bring something unique and unprecedented to the industry, something fans had never seen before. This award shows I succeeded. Thank you all and thank AVN for this honor.” Blade also presented at the AVN Awards last week and was inducted into the AVN Hall of Fame alongside his best friend, Eric Masterson. Barrett was also recently featured in the Daily Beast online, under retired porn performer Aurora Snow's column, in which he talked about his wildest moment in adult of last year as well as his hopes for the industry this year.
