Interview: Chris Pass of PartnerCash

PartnerCash has been the leading adult affiliate program in the German market since 2001, offering over 300 paysites, dating sites, niche dating sites, amateur communities and the world’s first interactive porn product, Saboom.com. CEO Chris Pass was kind enough to answer AVN's questions in this interview that originally ran in last year's Webmaster Access program. Tell us a little more about your plans to convert IPTV traffic with Saboom.tv by accessing the site through various platforms. Will this extend beyond German-speaking markets? Our IPTV platform, Pinxta.com, is built for a worldwide rollout and currently supports 120 different devices. We also offer our content and different TV products in five languages. All payment flows are localized for the major markets, and we already cover all the major countries in North America as well as in Europe. There are about 550 million connected TV devices out there already and there is no adult web application or website monetizing these devices. After a long beta period of six months, we just went public and are offering a variety of promo tools already in use for desktop and mobile applications. Partners can set up white labels with our content for their brand or can use their own content with a white label. Our platform will then make sure that all content is automatically transcoded to the right video format for all 120 devices. IPTV traffic is growing very fast at the moment. Since Christmas 2012, we have seen an increase of more than 60 percent, and we think it will increase even faster as manufacturers advertise connected TVs in their major ad spots. What other new or emerging projects can you talk about? Is your focus now on shoring up existing products, or developing new ones? We are close to rolling out version 2 of Saboom.com, our interactive porn platform. We learned so much with the first version and now we can’t wait to launch this great new version, which will make so many things easier and bring so many new updates to our existing clients. As Saboom was also our first international product we also had to learn our lessons in terms of sales and marketing, especially in markets like North America. With the new version we have also added features our North American partners have been asking for. Besides that, we are localizing our next products to the North American market, including five of our top paysite products and our amateur platform, which we will launch internationally soon as well. PartnerCash has more than 300 German-speaking products and we will roll out the best products on the international markets with local content, and localize the sales and marketing models for those products as well. We are also working on two new products, which will be built right from the start for the North American market, but I can’t give you any more details about them just yet! Which of your sites has seen the biggest growth over the past year? Besides Saboom.com, we have had the biggest growth with our community products like Sexkiste.com, one of the largest German-speaking sex date freemium networks, and Amateurseite.com, which is a major amateur porn platform in the German-speaking market. More than 12.000 real amateurs upload their porn, do live cams, chat, write private blogs and interact with clients through our messaging system every day. More of our international affiliates and partners are starting to localize and monetize their German-speaking traffic, as it is the second-largest buyer market for our industry and we run the top-performing products in this market. Are you seeing any important trends in terms of consumer interaction with your sites and products? Or other trends? As we spoke already about IPTV, which is the biggest trend at the moment next to the mobile usage and app development in our industry, I see more and more tablet users interacting with our websites. The percentage is growing day by day and if you follow the industry on the tablet you can see that most of the websites are not well prepared for these kinds of tablet sofa surfers. I think this trend will continue for a longer time, and that the industry will find ways to serve these clients very soon. But I don’t see much innovation in the industry at the moment. The majority of the industry is focusing on the mobile, dating, live cams and free live cam models to grow their business. What are you most optimistic about in terms of your own company and the industry in general? I’m always optimistic when it comes to my company :-) but let me summarize a bit. I’m very happy that our Montreal office, which is serving the North American market and partners, is growing fast and moving forward quickly. I can’t wait to roll out our community/social media products in North America, and also the second version of Saboom.com. In general, I’m happy that 60 percent of the scamming mobile business is done after a lot of countries started to regulate the payment procedures, and that finally real business is starting.
