Driving in California Wearing Google Glass Can Get You Cited

CALIFORNIA—The California Highway Patrol is on to all you techie slicksters who think you'll be able to multitask (i.e. watch porn) with your Google Glass while driving. Not in this state, you won't! One woman found out the hard way that patrolling officers are already on the lookout for nerd miscreants. According to James Trew for endgaget.com, "That commuter was Cecilia Abadie, and she's (rather fittingly) taken to Google+ after being given a ticket for driving while wearing her ... Explorer Edition. The official charge is 'Driving with Monitor visible to Driver (Google Glass),' meaning even CHiPS know full well what's the latest word in wearable tech. "Abadie posted the message in the hope that someone with local smarts might be able to clarify the legal merit of the ticket," added Trew. "We're staying out of it, but if you know your California state laws, then jump on the source and get in the mix." We'd like to say the 300+ comments left on endgaget.com were sympathetic to the woman's plight, but we can't. Generally speaking, most thought she got what she deserved!
