Exxxotica Makes It Special For The Ladies

EDISON, N.J.—With Exxxotica New Jersey set to open this weekend, Oct. 4-6, at the NJ Convention and Exposition Center in Edison, organizers have offered special deals for women to attend.   For this, the 20th show overall, organizers are anticipating attendance from women to virtually equal the number of men, thanks to more stage acts, seminars, exhibitors and stars geared towards the show’s ever-growing females. In addition, to help celebrate the show, all women will be admitted half-price for just $20 to the show all weekend long.  In 2011, Exxxotica began seeing an increase in its female attendance. For the first five years of the event the percentage of women hovered right around 20-25 percent. At the end of 2011, with the launch of the show’s female-friendly promotions, that number had risen to just over 35 percent. Then, in early 2012, E.L. James’ book Fifty Shades of Grey made its way to the top of the best-seller lists.  To further accommodate and appeal to the growing female audience, Exxxotica added more female friendly seminars and stage acts to its schedule, as well as bringing in several male stars to sign at the show. Ticket promotions geared towards women were also introduced. By the end of 2012, and with three of the most successful Exxxotica events during the calendar year, female attendance had risen to 40-45 percent, and it continues to grow.  At Exxxotica Chicago this summer, a record was set with the number of women attending Friday night for the show’s opening actually surpassing the number of men. In fact, overall attendance by women over the three days passed the mark for the previous 18 other shows in the history of the show. Now with the New Jersey event, which has been a stronger market historically, organizers are anticipating this to be the first Exxxotica that sees women outnumber men on the show floor. This increase in female attendance has had a ripple effect on many aspects of the show, but the most noticeable has been the drastic increase in the onsite sales for exhibitors and sponsors of Exxxotica, according to show organizers.  Charles Craton, a veteran adult novelty retailer and longtime Exxxotica exhibitor agrees. “We’ve seen more and more women at every show we exhibit at," he said. "And let’s face it. If your significant other tells you she likes a certain product, you buy one in every color.”  But it’s not just the companies that are thriving, so are the adult stars on hand to meet and greet fans.  “The overall vibe of Exxxotica is unique because of so many women attending,” said award-winning adult film star Allie Haze. “It makes it so much more than just an adult convention. It’s like a party with 20,000 of your closest friends.”  Gianna Michaels, the popular adult star and Exxxotica Fan Choice Award winner, agrees, adding, “I have lines all day of women and couples. It’s awesome to meet people who are open with their sexuality and not afraid of it.”  To satisfy women attendees, organizers have tapped Evan Stone, Ryan Driller, Seth Gamble, Brendon Miller, Manuel Ferrara and other male stars to meet fans at the show. Even Ron Jeremy enjoys long lines of women waiting to meet him and get their pictures taken. Female adult stars attending include Jenna Jameson, Jessica Drake, Nina Hartley, Kayden Kross, Tori Black, Lexi Belle and more. Also appearing are Teen Mom Farrah Abraham, Sydney Leathers, “Tan Mom” and other special guests.  On the main stage, male dance troupe MEN — The Show, will be performing every day, as well as other stage acts that women want to see. Seminars lead by a variety of experts on topics that women want also take place daily, and on the show floor there are even speed dating events taking place throughout the weekend for those single ladies who just might want to meet someone special. Exhibitors with products geared towards women are spread all over the convention.  “We continue to do everything we can to bring the best from the adult world to Exxxotica,” said J.
