Married British Porn Performers Profiled by ‘The Sun’

UNITED KINGDOM—Taking a break from railing against the evils of internet porn, The Sun has published a sweet little profile of a pair of local “Porn stars of suburbia,” as the article describes the married couple who share the same line of work. And it turns out that one of the profiled pair is the same panto performer we wrote about last October who was sacked from his Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat gig when it was revealed that he moonlighted in porn. Jump ahead a few months and we come to find out that Craig Chalmers’ better half, Jennifer, is also in the biz. He performs as Ryan Ryder, she as Jasmine Jae. Married in 2009, the couple were at the time still pursuing their original careers, Craig an actor in musical theater, and Jennifer, with a “first-class degree in business management and marketing” holding down a “9-5 every day and I was bored to tears,” as she told the paper. A year ago fortune struck, so to speak, during a holiday in Mexico, when they met a Yank. As Jennifer recalled, “We got chatting to a guy we met, an American, who was in the industry already. “We were both intrigued by it and asked loads of questions. He said we looked good and if we wanted to have a go he could set us up with some of his contacts. “So we set up our first scenes through him and we haven’t really looked back.” The splash may not have been felt on this side of the Pond just yet, but Jasmine reportedly shot her debut scene with Brazzers, and as the article notes, “They have already made names for themselves in the industry — and have been nominated for Male and Female Performer of the Year at the Paul Raymond Awards for porn.” That said, The Sun imbues the Chalmers' private life with the same homey charm it uses when writing gauzy domestic pieces on other celebrity types, noting during a recent stop by the couple's residence, “Craig and Jennifer lead a quiet domestic life in a cozy home, and on the day The Sun visits, they are excited about the arrival of their new electric bin that has a sensor-activated lid.” Sweet.
