Deep Throat Sex Scandal Announces New Dates, Guest Actors

HOLLYWOOD—David Bertolino's Deep Throat Sex Scandal continues to draw crowds to the Zephyr Theater on Melrose Boulevard, and it's at least partly due to Bertolino's and director Jerry Douglas's unique views on casting: Fill several roles in this porn-oriented play with actors who've already paid their dues in adult, performing some of the same acts today that the actors in the original Deep Throat were busted for back in the early 1970s! With the run of the play extended until at least March 24, Bertolino's latest offerings for the role of the ticket-taker of the Show World Theater in Times Square, where Deep Throat first played to sell-out crowds, include Jasmin St. Claire (March 7-10), Alana Evans (March 14-17) and Melissa Hill (March 21-24). Essaying the role of the North Carolina judge who presided over the trial of Deep Throat star Harry Reems and several New York mobsters/producers will be Bart Tangredi, the guy who, early in the play, has the role of director Gerard Damiano's (Herschel Savage) mobster/producer "Vito," not to mention '70s censorship icon Charles Keating. And of course, as noted in AVN's review of the play here, adult veterans Savage and Veronica Hart continue in their various roles in the play, though Hart is expected to be absent for several performances due to prior commitments. The Zephyr Theater is located at 7456 Melrose Avenue; valet parking available. Showtimes are at 8pm Thursday through Saturday, and 7pm on Sunday.
