Jim Powers Wraps Romantic 'Broken Hearts' for Smash Pictures

LOS ANGELES—Veteran director Jim Powers, who's best known for a multitude of gonzo series as well as some award-nominated parodies, not to mention being AVN's most frequent nominee for "Most Outrageous Scene of the Year" award, has just wrapped the couples-friendly romance Broken Hearts for Smash Pictures. As Broken Hearts' story unfolds, Richie (Richie Calhoun) thinks he has finally found his one true love when he begins a whirlwind romance with a woman in San Francisco (Remy LaCroix). Risking everything, he decides to take a surprise trip to SF and profess his love to her—only to discover that she is married. Heartbroken and crushed, he returns to Los Angeles to put his life back together. Michelle (Mischa Brooks), also recently heartbroken by a cheating boyfriend, has given up men. Her best friends Amy (Abby Cross) and Kinzi (Kennedy Leigh) are truly worried about her. Amy is married to true romantic Logan (Logan Pierce) and Kinzi is spoiled by her infatuated boyfriend Dan (Dane Cross). Through a chance encounter on the beach, and in part because Michelle rents a room from Amy, Michelle and Richie soon start hanging out and spending time together. Ash Hollywood makes an appearance as a wild actress/musician who dates Richie's friend Tommy (Danny Wylde), and stirs up a dinner party by sneaking off to the bathroom for a quickie. Will Mischa and Richie eventually decide to take the plunge back into the ocean of love? "For this shoot, we flew AVN Starlet of the Year Remy LaCroix up to her hometown of San Francisco to capture all the landmarks of the city," noted Stuart Wall, General Manager of Smash Pictures. "We couldn’t have asked for a better day. What started out as a cloudy, rainy morning changed within hours to bright sunshine, which allowed this shoot to blossom. With Remy alongside co-star Richie Calhoun, the couple strolled through the Fisherman’s Wharf, Golden Gate Bridge, and more." The second half of the shoot took place in locations in and around Los Angeles, and the finished product is scheduled for release on May 16. As usual, all of Smash's DVDs come with the option to watch the movie with the story or as an all-sex version.
