NASHVILLE, Tenn.—FleshStarter.com, the adult-oriented crowdfunding platform created in July by sex toy manufacturer Ntimate, will not be launching as planned. Pending projects will be directed to Offbeatr.com, the other recently announced adult crowdfunding platform. "The FleshStarter crowdfunding project has been an active project for our company for about a year," said Jack Campbell, CEO of Ntimate, Inc. "Our intent was to develop an adult-market-specific crowdfunding portal where we could generate funding for our own projects and for the overall adult community. After partial development of the site we became aware of another project also in development, the Offbeatr project led by well-known industry webmaster Ben Tao. We knew the industry needed a crowdfunding site, and were prepared to create one. However, Ben's team at Offbeatr, frankly, has done a much better job than our team, and we believe the industry is best served by supporting one well-operated site, rather than two." FleshStarter has recommended to its in-process projects that they, instead, use Offbeatr for their funding needs. Also, Ntimate will soon be publishing its own project for its new line of SteelToy stainless steel pleasure objects on the Offbeatr platform. "There is simply no reason for us to duplicate Offbeatr's efforts and split the just-emerging adult crowdfunding segment between two competing sites," Campbell continued. "We are the first to admit that the Offbeatr team has done just an amazing job, has created a beautiful, elegantly presented platform for the purpose, and has totally kicked our butt in the race to launch a great crowdfunding vehicle for this market.
