BlazingBucks Responds to Mr. Marcus' Statements

LOS ANGELES—In the wake of yesterday's news of 18-year veteran male performer Mr. Marcus testing positive for syphilis, and his admission that he provided a doctored STI test in order to shoot for Blazing Bucks, the company provided AVN with the following statement in response. In the wake of the syphilis outbreak and immediately following, OverBoard Video, the production arm for BlazingBucks, has stopped all production. "All directors were contacted immediately to act on the side of caution to prevent any possible future contagion following the recent outbreak involving five possible porn-performer cases," said Mark Blazing from OverBoard Video.

Unfortunately, a male performer that could be part of the propagation of the virus has been implicated as performing on one of the productions of OverBoard Video. OverBoard Video has already contacted all of the performers that could have been affected by this and has offered to pay for the various testing and potential medication needed for said performers. OverBoard Video is currently evaluating what  future actions to take regarding what has been confirmed to be an altered test result. A subsequent test received directly from the performer has shown some inconsistencies and the performer has since admitted to the press that he indeed altered his test results by removing certain information from the document pertaining to his positive syphilis result. OverBoard Video/Blazing Bucks firmly believes that security and the health of performers is a critical matter to be handled with the utmost care.  “The reason the male performer was allowed to perform with us on August 7 was because he provided an altered test result that made no indication that he had tested positive for syphilis,” Blazing said. It has now been admitted by the male performer that he intentionally altered the test results by concealing a positive result for syphilis.  As recently admitted by the male performer, an altered test result was provided to Mark Blazing on the day of production, August 7. It was not until several days later, after the initial reports implicating a high-profile male performer as being positive for syphilis, that Mark Blazing once again reviewed the test provided to him by this male performer on the day of production and noticed an inconsistency in the test result which contained no indication of a positive syphilis testing.  An investigation was immediately pursued by Mark Blazing.  “Finally, it is now also clear that the male performer who has come forward knew of his syphilis infection status contained in his test results before the production and he intentionally took actions to avoid disclosing it. This is clearly unacceptable and exceeds all bounds of tolerable conduct. At the very least, OverBoard Video will never contract with this performer for future productions, or any other performers that would provide false or altered test results. The intentional altering of medical records to bypass rules and regulations of the industry cannot be characterized as a “mistake” or any “loophole.” We must demand integrity on the part of all of the performers to insure the safety of the performers. Such intentional misconduct must be confronted for what it is. This was not simply a “mistake” and by making excuses for someone who alters test results, for whatever reasons, may encourage others to engage in similar misconduct. This is not acceptable. This incident would have been prevented had the rules in place been followed by the performer.
