Tranny Strip to Host 'Disco Diva's Birthday Bash' This Friday

NEW YORK CITY—New York City's premier weekly TS party, Tranny Strip, will host a themed "Disco Diva's Birthday Bash" at Evolve Lounge this Friday, July 6, for legendary TS promoter Sandy Michelle. "Sandy Michelle is my head hostess and head promoter of Tranny Strip," said Tranny Strip producer John Ed. "She was the one I credit for starting Tranny Strip. She believed in my party concept and thought it was very different and unique, then gave me the knowledge to move forward with starting the parties. We will throw a big birthday bash for this NYC legendary TS promoter with all the fittings for a 'disco diva' that lived and worked in the era of the '70s in the TS community!" Michelle is originally from Montreal, Quebec, and lived in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania before eventually settling in New York. Her impressive career dates back to the 1970s, working in historic drag show bars across the United States. She started as a show coordinator for the legendary Club Edelweiss in New York City in the early '90s until it closed years later. She was also the manager of New York City's Cat's Bar, a male strip club with weekend celebrity drag and TS performers. She hosted her first party at Flamingo Lounge and later had famous TS performer Allanah Starr as a guest. "Shortly after, Allanah started her own party along with Sunny Dee-Lite, who learned the ropes from working with her," explained TS promoter Sandy Michelle. "I was contacted by John Ed last August with the idea of a 'transsexual stripper party' and was fully on board with it. I thought it was such a great idea." Along with her weekly duties with Tranny Strip, Michelle also hosts a TS party at Mug Lounge every Monday and Wednesday night in New York City. In addition to Tranny Strip's usual festivities, patrons will be treated to a special performance by famous TS performer and Donna Summer impersonator, Princess Diandra, and a burlesque performance by Maine from The Maine Attraction. There are also a few surprises planned to celebrate the night. The event will be hosted by Tranny Strip producer Jened, along with Ashley Sky, Dina Delicious and Miss Pearl, who will all be dressed in theme. There will also be 20+ TS dancers dressed as '70s disco divas, beautiful girls on roller skates, and DJ Chelsea Malone dropping beats that will make you boogie on down to Funkytown. Tranny Strip is held every Friday at Evolve Lounge in New York’s fashionable Upper East Side, located at 221 East 58th Street between 2nd and 3rd Avenue. The party runs from 10pm-4am and features over 20 TS dancers, lapdances in the sensual Red Candle Room, $5 drink specials and $3 shots, and much more.
