California Exotic Novelties Opens Up Club CalExotics

CHINO, Calif.—As part of a special presentation on Saturday at AdultEx 2012 in Australia, California Exotic Novelties CEO Susan Colvin made the official announcement about Club CalExotics, her company's new social media platform. Club CalExotics is an online community designed to educate and engage the public about sexual wellness. It is intended to be a place where people can openly and comfortably discuss sexual health, relationships, intimacy and pleasure products. Community members are invited to create a profile and join in conversations on forums, discussion boards and site blogs. “Social media is something we value very highly at California Exotic Novelties. Club CalExotics is a natural progression for us as we continue our mission to connect with consumers. People have questions about sexual wellness—Club CalExotics is there to help,” Colvin said. Club CalExotics features the company's own sexperts and resident experts. The public is invited to ask questions, read product reviews, and openly discuss sexual wellness topics. Explained Jackie White, vice president of California Exotic Novelties, “In addition to connecting to the consumer, Club CalExotics is a great place for distributors, retailers, party planners, and other members of the industry to connect. The world is getting smaller and smaller because of social media; Club CalExotics gives us a place where we can all hang out.” To celebrate the launch CalExotics is giving away a new iPad to a member of Club CalExotics. Anyone who signs up before 11:59pm PDT on May 16 is eligible to win. “We will give an iPad away to one lucky winner,” said Al Bloom, director of marketing for California Exotic Novelties. “As a marketing tool, Club CalExotics offers us a home base for all kinds of contests and interactive media. This is only the beginning. Watch for lots more from Club CalExotics!” Club CalExotics will also host live chats and Q&A sessions. Celebrities like Phil Varone—who partnered with the company to produce the Sex, Toys, and Rock ’n’ Roll Collection—will host one such session. Desiree Duffie, director of public relations for CalExotics, commented on the new program, saying that it gives the company “the opportunity to connect directly with consumers and fans. We’re planning a live chat with former Skid Row Drummer Phil Varone; more details will be announced on Club CalExotics soon. From a public relations perspective, Club CalExotics is the perfect bridge between our brands and the public.” Club CalExotics offers many networking opportunities for novelty companies. As a service to the industry, California Exotic Novelties will present the Adult Novelty Social Media Webinar on May 15.
