'Consent' Panel to Discuss Porn's Responsibility to Public

NEW YORK—A panel of adult industry pundits will address the topic of whether porn makers have a social responsibility to those who consume their movies at a seminar next Wednesday, April 25, as part of the continuing "Consent" exhibit at Tribeca gallery apexart. Titled "Brain and the Bedroom: The Effects of Pornography," the seminar will be moderated by "Consent" curator and porn critic Lyndsey G., with MakeLoveNotPorn.tv founder Cindy Gallop, former adult producer/screenwriter Dan Reilly, Museum of Sex curator Sarah Forbes and performer/director Madison Young slated as panelists. Questions these industry representatives will tackle, according the exhibit's website, include whether porn addiction is "a serious problem or a conservative bugaboo," if the sexual practices in which people engage are "changing with the prevalence of pornography, or ... the same as always, just with more access to camera phones," and just what it might be argued is "the responsibility, or lack thereof, of the porn industry to consumers."
