Good Vibes Adds Massachusetts Planned Parenthood as GiVe Recipient

SAN FRANCISCO—Good Vibrations, the legendary San Francisco-based retailer, has announced its bicoastal partnership with Planned Parenthood Shasta Pacific in California and just added Planned Parenthood League of Massachusetts throughout April and May. Planned Parenthood’s biggest political attack in decades came on Feb. 18, when the U.S. House of Representatives voted to bar Planned Parenthood health centers from all federal funding. If this dangerous legislation is enacted it will leave millions without basic health care. Good Vibrations is committed to supporting this icon of women’s health and freedom. Beginning April 1, Good Vibrations’ customers can support Planned Parenthood centers in Good Vibrations retail regions:Massachusetts,San Franciscoand 16 otherNorthern Californiacounties. Shoppers can make a financial gift at the time of their Good Vibrations purchase in any Good Vibrations retail stores with 100 percent of the contribution going to the nonprofit of their choice.  Planned Parenthood Shasta Pacific provides life-saving preventative health care to three million women, men and teens year each, including more than 100,000 here inSan FranciscoandNorthern California. These services include birth control, life-saving breast and cervical cancer screening, STD testing and treatment and HIV testing among other crucial preventative health care and information services.  Planned Parenthood League of Massachusetts believes that all people deserve the information and expert services they need to make informed, personal decisions that affect their health, their lives, and their futures. PPLM provides a full range of reproductive health care services during more than 47,000 visits each year at seven health centers across the state. Through our school-based education programs, we educate families and empower youth to make responsible choices that lead to healthier lives. Their goal is to make sexual health a public health priority. GiVe is Good Vibrations' extensive donation and sponsorship program. For over 30 years Good Vibrations has partnered with hundreds of local and national non-profit organizations donating products, advertising and sponsorship for fundraisers and has provided much needed support for women’s shelters, HIV/AIDS research, art programs, LGBT benefits, breast cancer awareness and much more.  Additionally, every several months Good Vibrations partners with a different nonprofit organization and encourages their customers to contribute directly to them at check-out, online and in the stores.   Good Vibrations’ nonprofit partnerships highlight their longstanding commitment to health and well-being for all people.  Good Vibrations C.O.O.JackieStrano explains, “We support Planned Parenthood’s commitment to comprehensive sex education and information and have supported Planned Parenthood in many different ways throughout the years. “Planned Parenthood has stood by women and their health and well-being for over 95 years, and we intend to support them to ensure that they can continue to provide quality service to women everywhere. We respect women’s autonomy, intelligence, and access to safe and legal health care.” Staff Sexologist Dr. Carol Queen says, “We have partnered with Planned Parenthood throughout the years, but never has it been more necessary than it is now—their funding situation is dire. We are confident that our customers will appreciate an easy opportunity to make a difference, for themselves and people in their communities. Access to positive, inclusive reproductive health care is simply not something we can take for granted anymore.”   To learn more about Good Vibrations GiVe program and to see this year’s beneficiaries, visit GoodVibes.com/content.jhtml?id=GiVe-Donations-Sponsorship or contact Camilla Lombard at (415) 974-8985, ext. 201, or email camillal@goodvibes.com.
