Tanya Tate Scores Several British SHAFTA Award Nominations

HOLLYWOOD, Calif.—Final nominations for the 2011 SHAFTA Awards, the U.K.'s premiere adult films awards, have just been announced, and the work of international ‘sexelbrity’ and Liverpool native Tanya Tate has been recognized with several nominations. Tanya was nominated for Female Performer of the Year, MILF of the Year, Best Sex Scene (for Frustrated Housewives 5) and Best Series (for Tanya Tate’s Sex Tour of Ireland). Diamond Geezers and Frustrated Housewives, which star Tanya, also were nominated, in the Best Series and Best Spoof Series categories, respectively. “I am thrilled to be nominated once again in the SHAFTA Awards, especially for Performer of the Year,” said Tanya. “2010 was a brilliant year for me; the fan response to my scenes has been phenomenal. I’m very pleased that my work has been recognized by TVX with these SHAFTA nominations.” Tanya was unquestionably the most high profile British adult star in England and Ireland due to her scandalous Television X series, Tanya Tate’s Sex Tour of Ireland. The scandal occurred due to an Irish pro-athlete explicitly taking part in Sex Tour. The series was a hit, with four of the episodes ranking in the top 10 most viewed in TVX’s 15 year history. The series also propelled Tanya into the mainstream press, as Irish and U.K. media couldn’t get enough of the beauty. Because the SHAFTA Awards are decided by fans, Tanya also has re-vamped and relaunched her campaign site, VoteTanya.com, which is used mostly to direct voters on how to support her in her various award nominations.
