Firefighters Who Allegedly Shot Porn In Firehouse Now Losing Jobs

CYBERSPACE—Earlier this week, AVN.com reported on two firefighters in Akron, Ohio, who got themselves into an embarrassing situation when they allegedly shot a homemade porn video in a city fire station, and the video was then posted online. But as the week went by, the situation for Akron Fire Department Lieutenants Arthur Dean, 49, and Deann Eller, 42, grew increasingly serious, and on Friday both of the firefighters—who are said to be in a long-term relationship and have been with the fire department since 2000—found themselves out of jobs, according to a report by Cleveland television news station WKYC. At the same time, there still appears to be a cloud of confusion over what the firefighters actually did, with their lawyer offering a different version of events from the narrative set forth in earlier accounts, according to an Associated Press report.  While Dean remains suspended from duty, he has agreed to a disciplinary action that will leave him “no longer eligible to serve.” Eller, on the hand, avoided departmental discipline by simply quitting, according to the Cleveland.com site.  Though she had received her promotion to lieutenant on June 5, on June 22 she sent a one-line letter saying, “Effective immediately, I, Deann Eller, will be retiring from the Akron Fire Department.” So what happened? According to accounts made public earlier this week, the couple recorded a sex video inside one of Akron’s firehouses, a video that was reported to their bosses by another firefighter who somehow spotted it online. But at the time, the only details released described the video as portraying a nude woman appearing to perform an exercise workout in a gym. Whether the gym was located in a city firehouse was unclear. A spokesperson for the city, Ellen Lander Nischt, said that officials do not believe that the gym is part of a Akron fire department facility, according to The Akron Beacon-Journal. So what’s the problem? That answer remains unclear as well. On Friday, however, Brian Pierce—the lawyer representing both firefighters—would not confirm that the any video was shot by the couple in a firehouse. In fact, he told the AP, Dean and Eller never meant to record a video at all. Instead, he acknowledged that they “did participate in explicit livestreams,” according to the AP report. The streaming video, Pierce said, was hacked, recorded and then placed online by a third party, without the couple’s knowing involvement. Dean was promoted to lieutenant in 2015, and both firefighters had solid work records with rare absences, the Beacon-Journal reported. But now, for reasons that remain murky, they are no longer firefighters. Photos by Akron Fire Department
