2nd Toronto International Porn Festival Opens This Weekend

TORONTO—The second Toronto International Porn Festival opens on Friday, April 20, and will last through the weekend. It will feature a full schedule of adult and sex-positive full length films and shorts, with show segments at the two participating venues labeled "Comedic Porn," "Sci-Fi," "Kinky Shorts," "Documentary," "Identity Porn," "Straight But Not Narrow," and more. Also included in the weekend will be networking events for adult actors, producers and directors, as well as a "DIY Porn Workshop," a panel on ethical porn—and of course, the awards. A full schedule of the events can be found here. The full line-up of award nominees can be found here. Among the films that will be shown during the festival are some by names well familiar to the U.S. adult community, such as Bella Vendetta's Revolution Right Here Between My Legs and Tube Site Punishment, Shine Louise Houston's Writing In Bed and Birthday, Erika Lust's Tie Me Up! A Shibari Documentary and Dirty Feet, and Petra Joy's Dice Girls. The films will be shown at two locations: the Super Wonder Gallery at 584 College Street, and the Royal Cinema, 608 College Street, both in downtown Toronto. Besides Good For Her, the festival is being sponsored by, among others, LELO, njoy, Aslan Leather, Überlube, Oasis Aqualounge, Swinger Safari, Exsens, Sinvention, PinkLabel.tv and Bijoux Indiscrets. Described as "Celebrating the diverse erotic landscape of porn," the festival screens "the most creative, expressive, diverse and erotic pornography the industry has to offer. As a response to the growth and popularity of independent and progressive erotic films, the former Feminist Porn Awards have now been rebranded, to broaden the conversation about positive porn and reflect the diverse audience it attracts. These films are for people of all genders, sexualities, bodies and pleasures." Festival staff also note that "All accepted submissions have confirmed that their film production adhered to the Adult Performer Advocacy Committee’s Model Bill of Rights." Tickets for all three days may be purchased at the festival's website here.
