International Lingerie Show Returns With 3-Day Event

LAS VEGAS—Under new ownership and in a new host hotel, the International Lingerie Show made its return this week after a year-long hiatus, and focused this time mainly on the lingerie sector of the industry. In the convention area of the Westgate Las Vegas Hotel, more than 50 exhibitors showcased everything from women’s swimsuits and lingerie to club and dance wear to men’s underwear and even wigs and anal plugs with furry animal tails. The new ILS kicked off Monday and continues through Wednesday.  Row after row of booths featured sequined teddies, leather corsets, plus-sized lingerie fashions, bridal wear, Halloween costumes and more. The Chisel Point booth featured dresses, corsets, bra and panty sets, jumpsuits and hoods and floggers made from soft leather. The creations are manufactured in Mexico, explained owner Ali Ashgar Abbas, and feature sheepskin leather.  Also featuring products on the “naughty side” was A Touch of Fur. The booth had tables lined with silicone and metal anal plugs, some of which are adorned with dyed fox tails and rabbit tails. Many of the tails are removable for cleaning, as they simply screw onto the base (which also means they won’t fall off while being worn). “It makes it easy to change plug sizes too,” said owner Matthew Serbos. “If you want a small plug, screw on a small plug. If you want larger, screw that one on.” A Touch of Fur is working to make all tails on its plugs removable, Serbos added. The company also stocks plugs that have clip-on tails, or plugs with jewels in the base. Justin Sayne Leather showcased one-of-a-kind, hand-crafted leather goods, including floggers, chokers and more, while Funk Plus Inc.’s booth featured leather pasties, broker caps, collars and the like. More traditional lingerie fashions were found in booths like Daisy Corsets, Dynashape Intima, Eurotique and Forplay Inc. Also exhibiting was Envy by Alexis, an independent online boutique specializing in tankinis and one-piece swimsuits. Buyers looking for club wear, dance wear and rave wear were not disappointed in the collections in the booths of Body Language Fashions, Hot Girl, Je T’aime Corp., Just To Flirt Inc. and others. Buyers in search of plus-size fashions found contemporary designs at the Curvy Kate Booth. Manufacturered in England, the line features bra-and-panty sets, swimsuits, tankinis and more with backs ranging from 28 to 44 inches and cup sizes up to K. “That means we have everything from D to K,” explained company sales rep Jennie. “DD, E, F … all of them.” The fabrics are soft and feature colors and patterns, which appeals to bustier women looking for something besides black, white or tan, she added. The company also carries lines of stretchy lace camisoles and boy shorts from Mad & Mac out of Texas, as well as Charnos and Lepel London, Jennie said. Buyers looking to cater to male customers were not left out by exhibitors at ILS. The Andrew Christian booth had on display custom woven men’s underwear creations in street, sport, fashion and basic collections, and a number of styles ranging from low cut to boxer briefs and more. The Kingston Collective for Men was also in attendance. The company is a distributor for several underwear and swim brands from around the world, including 2Eros, Manstore, Olaf Benz and Tribe. Male Power shared a booth with sister company Magic Silk, highlighting its newest collections, including a novelty underwear collection and the Camo Sport Net range. Malebasics Corp. owner Paul Valencia noted his booth had a new range of faux leather dance wear for men. “It’s so new, we don’t even have a name for it yet,” he said with a chuckle.  The range comes in sizes S/M and L/XL, while most of the company’s other pieces range in sizes from small to extra-large. “We plan on launching a Big and Tall collection later this year,” Valencia said. Rounderbum displayed its line created to make the male body look natural and contoured. The range is offered in basic and fashion colors and styles. The Yocisco booth caught buyers’ attentions with its range of men’s undergarments made from bamboo.  “The soft fabric helps to wick away moisture and keep skin cool and dry,” said company rep Branden Lark. “And the fabric gets softer each time it’s worn and washed.” The styles range from low-cut to boxer briefs, and come in sizes small to 2X and feature fun deigns in bright or pastel colors. In addition to the exhibit floor, ILS featured complimentary breakfasts and lunches during the show, as well as an opening night Meet and Greet event. For more, visit ILSShow.com.
