Kross, Jane & Steele Reunite in 'The Female of the Species'

LOS ANGELES—Reigning AVN Best Director - Non-Feature Kayden Kross collaborates for the first time since 2012 with former contract sisters Jesse Jane and Riley Steele in her own latest directorial offering, The Female of the Species, out today from her label Trenchcoatx and distributor Jules Jordan Video. The anthology title, centering on a theme of powerful and somewhat predatory female characters, also stars Nicole Aniston, Abigail Mac, Evelyn Claire, Stallion Strong, Bambino and Manuel Ferrara. "I've been wanting to do this project for a while," Kross said. "I'm always drawn to situations where the woman is a bit dangerous. It gives the sex some stakes and gets away from the trope of the male character pressuring, tricking or otherwise leading his female partner into it." "It was an honor to be included in The Female of the Species and to shoot under Kayden's direction," Aniston commented. "I loved the unique, dark concept and empowering, very real sex. It will easily be a new classic amongst men and women alike, truly beautiful." Added Claire, "Women who get what they came for are sexiest, and I love that this movie captures that." "Each of these stories was built around the actresses we cast, and they all filled the roles perfectly," Kross noted. Of working again with Jane and Steele, Kross recounted, "We had a hard time getting through the day because we were all back together and kept getting distracted with old stories and our own tongue-in-cheek references in the script." Elaborated Jane, "For all the scenes we've done together, we'd never done one with just the three of us, and we had been asking for years. Sometimes you just have to take matters into your own hands and Trenchcoatx was the perfect place to do it for."
