Fresh Faces: Victoria June

LOS ANGELES—Victoria June remembers watching Ava Devine’s porn scenes before venturing into adult herself. “She’s my favorite porn star,” June says. “I didn’t know anything else, I just watched her porn. I would masturbate to her porn with my ex-boyfriend. We would watch her porn together and fuck to her porn.” But she wouldn’t look up just any outing featuring the notorious hardcore performer.  “Like her gang-bangs and the bukkakes,” June recalls. “I love her. I love how she was just crazy and sexual and very energetic and just like happy. It kind of reminded me of me.” Indeed, June brings her own high-energy style of performing to the set, making the curvaceous Latina beauty one of the adult industry’s brightest newcomers on the rise. To say she had an adventurous streak before she got into adult would be an understatement. The half Dominican, half Puerto Rican native of New York worked as a stripper before porn, making regular trips to Scarlett’s in Miami in between splitting time at Rick’s Cabaret and Vivid in New York City. Then last summer everything changed when a fellow dancer at Vivid Cabaret connected June with a friend of hers who did casting and needed a girl who was uninhibited for an upcoming video shoot. “So she gave him my number and I just sent booby photos and he just said, ‘OK, you’re on,’” June says. It turns out the production was Girls Gone Wild and June had to fly to a familiar spot—Miami. “I didn’t know if it was porn. I had no idea what it was. I didn’t know what I was expected to do. I was like I’m just so bored with life and I live off of thrill. So this is something crazy and have fun with it,” June continues. “I knew Miami very well so I wasn’t like I didn’t know anybody. I have friends in Miami. “I was like OK, if things don’t work my way I still have a job there. I can go dance. … I had no idea I was doing a CamCon thing. I didn’t know there would be webcam models and porn stars. And the first girl as soon as I got to the airport that was waiting for me was Natalia [Starr]. “And she’s there with her glasses, without makeup, just looking so innocent. … But she’s not so innocent—I love her, she’s amazing. I would say she’s like my best friend in porn. That’s how it started.” June, who also met Jill Kassidy, Cindy Starfall and Gina Valentina at the Girls Gone Wild shoot, came up with the quick stage name of “Victoria Vice” for the day. Victoria was her stripper name and Vice “because it was Miami.” “But I didn’t like it. It was too badass,” June jokes. “I kind of wanted…June is like a girl naked running in the field with flowers blooming everywhere and then Victoria… Victoria is evil.  “Victoria’s are evil. I’ve known Victoria’s before. They’re very nice but they’re evil. And then June, ah, June. It balances the Victoria out. And plus, June is the month that I decided I wanted to do porn so that’s why June.” The GGW shoot went well and June enjoyed meeting some of the top girls in the adult business, so much so that she was intrigued with the possibilities. By the third week of July, she was back in Miami making her porn debut. “So I did every single day for a whole week and then I went back to New York and then they booked me again for a whole week solid with like one day off in between,” June says. “So I worked for Naughty America, Reality Kings, BangBros, Team Skeet, literally everyone. That was in late August. And then I came straight here.” June flew from Miami to LA in early September, racking up more than 50 scenes for leading studios such as Jules Jordan, Evil Angel, Hard X, Mofos, Brazzers and Kelly Madison. “I didn’t even think I was going to stay here, I thought I was going to go back home,” she says. “I love it. It’s funny because the industry’s not bad or how people say it is. I’m always happy and everyone around me is happy because I make everyone happy. I’m nice to everyone… I like working. I like the male talent. I haven’t had anything bad happen.” Born in Brooklyn and raised in The Bronx, June says she felt zero nerves during her first sex scene with veteran stud J-Mac. “He’s one of those guys, you don’t care who’s looking. My mom could’ve been watching,” June cracks. “There was no nerve in me. It was like whatever, let’s just do it. The thing is I never get into something if I don’t understand it completely so I’m glad that I’m starting at a later age—I’m 25 years old. Because I understand I’m not young, I’m not naive. I know what’s good, I know what’s bad. And that really helped me a lot just understanding even from other girls. Natalia’s helped me a lot and Jill’s given me great advice. “And they told me what to do, what not to do and if I ever get in this situation how to deal with it. So because I had their support and the director that I started working with in Miami, he gave me really great advice. I didn’t think I was going to fuck up. I was like, ‘This is it, I’m doing it. I can never take this back and I was OK with it—more than OK with it.’” One of her favorite scenes so far without question is her encounter with Jax Slayher that was her first scene for Blacked and three-time AVN Director of the Year Greg Lansky. “It was very, very classy. And the male talent—Jax is great—he’s really nice. I did my first [interracial scene] with him. And then my second IR was with Lexington Steele,” June recalls, calling the Blacked shoot “porn prestige.” “Everyone was so nice. I had a robe and someone was doing my makeup and my hair and I was eating. I felt like such a princess. Like seriously, I felt amazing. Greg Lansky and his whole team, they really make you feel great.” June also points to her first scene with Manuel Ferrara, the five-time AVN Male Performer of the Year, as a highlight of her blossoming career. “Kayden Kross booked me to do a scene with him and it was really cool,” June says. What she liked most about the scene was “his penis.” “It’s so funny, he makes you fall in love with him during the scene and then after the scene he’s like OK, back to the professionalism, and I love that,” June says. “I value that so much from him. He’s awesome. … We did two or three scenes already together. Also I did one for Brazzers with Keiran Lee. That was really fun. We did a masseuse thing. “He was massaging me. He helped me so much. He taught me something that has helped me with my other scenes—remember the last thing that a person says before you respond.  … For my other scenes, even the scene I did yesterday, that helped.” When June was 18, she did hospice care in New York for about three years before she started exotic dancing. A self-proclaimed “beach girl,” she likes to be active above all else. “I like to play volleyball. I like to tan. I like to swim. I like to take selfies. I like shopping, maybe for an hour, not too long because I get frustrated. I like doing yoga for exercise,” June reveals. “I’m very outdoorsy. I don’t watch TV. I feel like if you sit in front of a TV you’re wasting your life away and you’re not enjoying your life; you’re living through someone else’s life and I would rather they live through mine. I like meeting people and going outside. I can be walking the dog and I’ll talk to someone and become best friends with them.” June admits she also once paid to see her own porn. “When my scene came out on BangBros with Bruno Dickems I was like, ‘Damn, I have to pay a dollar to see this?’ So I really paid a dollar to see my own porn. A few weeks later it was on Pornhub so I was like fuck, I should’ve just waited,” she jokes. She says she’d like to do porn for at least the next five years. “Porn makes me happy,” June says.
