Glamour Spotlights Findom Artists, Adult Stars, Cam Performers

LOS ANGELES—In its January issue, Glamour magazine features 15 women whose careers fall under the broad term of “sex work,” and many are names well known in the adult industry. According to the piece’s author, Lynsey G., “The real stories of webcam models, dominatrices, and porn stars are often very different from the tropes we see in flashy (and often irresponsible) headlines abut sex, drugs, and crime. Each person interviewed talks about the postive aspects of their work, and the opportunities it’s provided—including financial solvency (Ariana Marie), “writing, performing stand-up comedy, and animal rescue” (Brett Rossi), “a platform to represent my sexuality on my own terms” (Chelsea Poe), “an extension of both my art and activism in creating social change and dismantling sexual shame and stigma” (Madison Young), and opening up “a Japanese pub that serves only ethically raised meat, sustainably caught seafood, and local organic produce” (Eva Lovia).
