Local ABC TV Station Plugs Cherie DeVille Presidential Campaign

PALM SPRINGS, Calif.—If a reality TV star can win the United States presidency, surely a porn star can’t be far behind—at least that’s what Cherie DeVille is hoping as she readies her run for the White House in 2020. Now it appears the major media is jumping on the bandwagon. Sort of. One ABC network affiliate in Palm Springs, California, sat DeVille down for an on-camera interview, along with her vice presidential running mate, the 54-year-old rapper Artis Leon Ivey Jr., better known by his nom de rap, Coolio, allowing DeVille—most recently star of Accidentally Lesbian 4—to explain her surprisingly serious platform. As it turns out, DeVille has worked for 17 years as a physical therapist, and told KESQ TV that her priority as president will be health care reform. “I have worked in hospitals, I have worked in nursing homes, and I have worked in outpatient clinics and there is nothing more heartbreaking than seeing a family that can not get the health care they want or need because of money,” DeVille said to KESQ reporter Joe Galli. DeVille, at age 39, has starred in two installments of Girlfriends Films’ Art of Older Women series—but were she to be elected president, in addition to becoming the first woman and first adult video performer to win the White House, when she took office on January 20, 2021, she would be the youngest president in United States history at 42 years and five months. The Anal Threesome With My Boss star would beat out Teddy Roosevelt by five months. DeVille also pledged to focus her policy initiatives on education, with a proposal similar to the “free college” plan made popular by last year’s Democratic primary candidate Bernie Sanders. “Because college is so important to getting an entry level job in the United States I think it should be like high school,” she told the TV station. “I think we should provide at least some higher level educational institutions for free.” But what makes the North Carolina native and veteran of more than 400 adult videos believe that she has a prayer at winning the nation’s highest office? “If we are pulling away from electing only politicians for our higher offices, I think as a small celebrity in my own right I would be a good choice for the American people and for the world at large,” DeVille told KESQ.
