Tasha Reign, Mia Li to Discuss Consent at UCSD’s Alpha Epsilon Pi

SAN DIEGO—Fresh from her successful talk about the meaning of consent to a fraternity at UCLA, adult film star Tasha Reign is now heading to University of California—San Diego with her colleague Mia Li to discuss consent, sexual boundaries, and more. She will speak at the Alpha Epsilon Pi fraternity house during a special appearance at 9:30 p.m. tonight, October 24. Much like her recent panel at UCLA’s AEPi house, the event is not open to the public, but Reign and other adult film stars are accepting bookings to speak about consent and provide sex education at higher education institutions nationwide. I had hoped it would, and to see it come to fruition is extremely rewarding,” Reign said. “With today's social media, it's never been easier for people to reach out and create. With all of the media attention surrounding 'celebrity' sexual predators, it is apparent this epidemic is rampant in our country because there has been an astounding lack of sexual education and we aren’t providing our young adults with the important tools to navigate sex in a healthy and pleasurable manner. Nothing has made me feel like giving back more than being able to talk to college-age students about consent, sex, and why the discussion is pertinent to their lives and everyone around them, regardless of sexual orientation." As incidents of sexual assault, rape, and sexual harassment on college campuses around the country continue to grow, Tasha Reign and others have been speaking out to raise awareness on the importance of consent and respect for women. Li, who joined the adult industry at 21, is among the most popular performers, and has decided to join with Reign in her effort to educate students and provide a safer campus environment. “I am really proud of Tasha for taking on this challenge and providing students with vital information about respect for women, boundaries and that no means no!” she said. A 2014 UCLA graduate with a Bachelor’s Degree in Women’s Studies, Reign has been outspoken about her support for women’s rights and women’s sexual freedom as well as an advocate for normalizing sexuality and advancing the rights of sex workers. She played a pivotal role in helping defeat the anti-porn Prop. 60 last year by campaigning vigorously and raising awareness through the media, as noted in The Guardian last fall. In addition to being published in notable mainstream media outlets such as Huffington Post, Al Jazeera America, BroBible.com, and OC Weekly, Reign has also participated in a number of panel discussions and presentations on college campuses. Moreover, her writings have been featured on such collegiate websites as Total Sorority Move and BroBible. Reign’s time at UCLA has been profiled in the school’s paper, The Daily Bruin, as well as LA Weekly, and other publications. A Penthouse Pet and a contract star for iWantEmpire after serving as an Elegant Angel exclusive performer, Reign is a sought-after speaker, performer, and director, as well as continuing to be one of the biggest draws at premier gentlemen’s clubs all around the country. Despite her busy schedule, Reign continues to direct and produce original content for her popular tashareign.com site while remaining very active with her fans whom she calls her "Reigndeer" on social media. As the newly-elected Chairperson of Adult Performer Advocacy Committee (APAC), a workplace safety advocacy group for adult performers, Reign is dedicating herself to fighting for the rights of adult performers as well as all women. Meanwhile, Reign plans to attend graduate school in the fall where she will focus on writing and journalism.
