Charlotte Stokely Featured on 'I'm Dying Up Here'

VENICE, Calif.—Adult star Charlotte Stokely has already been having a terrific year, what with her major acting roles in Axel Braun’s upcoming movie Justice League XXX from Wicked Pictures and her starring role in Confessions of a Sinful Nun for Mile High Media. And now this perennial All-Girl Performer of the Year nominee can be seen on the new Showtime series I’m Dying Up Here. Starring Melissa Leo and Michael Angarano, I’m Dying Up Here is set in 1970s Los Angeles, when the city was home to a burgeoning stand-up comedy club scene that produced comedians who would go on to become household names: Letterman, Leno, Robin Williams and many others. Another big name, Jim Carrey, is one of the show’s creators. Based on former LA Times writer William Knoedelseder's book of the same name, I'm Dying Up Here “delves into the inspired and damaged psyches that inhabit the hilarious, but complex business of making an audience laugh,” as the Showtime promo describes. According to Stokely's PR team, Stokely was specifically requested for the role. Stokely appears in Episode 5. She plays a model who has sex at the model house with celebrities. She is featured prominently in the opening part of the scene, walking naked through the house. Later she is seen in bed with a Creative Artists Agency rep, who is screaming about not getting off. “I was so excited to be on set for Jim Carrey,” Charlotte said. “I kept thinking that throughout the shoot. He’s one of my all-time favorite actors. It’s been cool to see how well it turned out and how much people are enjoying the series. I knew it had aired when suddenly several strangers recognized me from the show. So far everyone has said they loved it!” In addition to Carrey's involvement, other comics can be seen in Episode 5, among them Al Madrigal, Dom Irrera and Rick Overton.
