Dildo Makes Guest Appearance on ‘The Island With Bear Grylls’

TV LAND—Viewers of The Island With Bear Grylls are used to seeing unusual creatures visiting the cast members of the reality series, but Monday’s episode left many a little shocked by the latest item to wash up on the beach. People were a bit taken aback by a shot of a hermit crab hanging out next to a black dildo on the sandy beach, and took to social media to make sure they were actually seeing what they thought they were seeing. “Rem ... have I gone mental or is there a black dildo in the background of #TheIsland” posted one fan, while another queried, “Did anyone else spot the crab casually taking a stroll on the beach next to this big dildo? #TheIsland”. Twitter was abuzz with fans of the show wondering how the dildo casually washed up on the beach, while actual cast mates were just as confused, with one proclaiming, “It’s amazing what you find on the beach.” Reps with Channel 4, the producer of the show, confirmed to news outlets that it was in fact a real dildo that did in fact really wash up on the shore. The Island With Bear Grylls is a reality-based show where a group of British men and women are taken by Grylls—an adventurer and TV actor and producer—to a remote, uninhabited Pacific Island and left completely alone for six weeks, with nothing but cameras, the clothes they are wearing and some basic tools. The British show is currently in its fourth season.
