Wicked Pictures Unveils 'DNA' Box Cover, Trailer

LOS ANGELES—Trust Wicked Pictures director Brad Armstrong to cook up something ambitious in time for awards season. Just how ambitious became clear yesterday when the safe-for-work trailer for DNA was unveiled on YouTube. In his script for DNA, Armstrong envisions a future where individuals can reconnect a loved one ... but only for 72 hours. The sci-fi drama stars the director along with Wicked contract stars Jessica Drake and Asa Akira, and a cast of other prominent adult performers. Also revealed to fans this week was the box cover art as well as a contest for fans to win copies of the two-disc release. And for an additional teaser, see some stills from the production on AVN.com. The trailer is a compelling teaser for the production, validating Armstrong’s assertion that “DNA turned out amazingly well—the locations, sets and wardrobe really came together to create another time and place, which is always so important when delving into the science fiction genre.” For the three-hour and twenty-minute epic, Armstrong employed his skills as a writer, director and designer to create a movie that works both as an entertaining thriller and an exploration of eroticism and emotion. Complimented his leading ladies, Armstrong said, “Jessica and Asa were fantastic. They have amazing chemistry together onscreen, both in their acting sequences and sex scenes. We also had a great supporting cast, as each performer brought a little something extra to the movie. As a director, I couldn’t be more proud of their efforts.” Drake plays Lidia Kline, who has worked her way up the corporate ladder at Iterum Industries, which specializes in reuniting clients, via cloning, with loved ones who have passed away. But this “Re-Life” service comes at a price—and not just in dollars. The clones, called "carbons," have a lifespan of only 72 hours, and irregularities have cropped up in the cloning process. But Lidia and her boss, owner Malcolm Moore (Armstrong), are more focused about expanding their clientele. Some clients have emotional needs they’re seeking to meet by bringing back a loved one. And, of course, the clones can also provide a good time, as when Kline and Moore seek to influence a congressman by introducing him to a couple of hot numbers. But the clone game take a dramatic turn when one of the carbons, Kayla (Akira), becomes aware of her former life. And that leads to disastrous results. But at Iterum, nothing is permanent. Not even death… Other cast members include Small Hands, Abigail Mac, India Summer, Vanessa Veracruz, Chanel Preston, Abella Danger, Courtney Taylor, Scarlet Red, Christi Ann, Ryan Driller, Eric Masterson and Tommy Gunn. Timed with the release of the cover and the trailer, Wicked is promoting the movie to social media audiences via “The History and Mystery of DNA” promotional sweepstakes. Fans who follow the company's official Twitter account (twitter.com/wickedpictures) get a chance to win copies of the two-disc, gatefold sleeve DVD by answering topical questions about DNA—the molecule on which all life is built, not the movie. DNA will be available September 28 from Wicked Pictures. For domestic sales, contact Bonnie Kail at (800) 737-7838 or bonnie@wickedpictures.com.
