LA County Democratic Party Joins Opposition to Prop 60

LOS ANGELES—The Los Angeles County Democratic Party, reportedly the largest local Democratic Party in the United States, adds its name to the still growing list of organizations and political groups to officially oppose Proposition 60, the initiative going before California voters in November that would allow any state resident to sue those involved in the production of adult content in which condoms are not visible. The LACDP joins the California Democratic Party, the California Republican Party, the California Libertarian Party, the San Francisco Democratic Party, the San Francisco Medical Society, AIDS Project LA, the San Francisco AIDS Foundation and many others in formally opposing the measure. "This endorsement is an important victory for adult performers, and the No on 60 campaign," Free Speech Coalition executive director Eric Paul Leue said. "Los Angeles County is the home for many in the adult performer community. Proposition 60 is a misleading, dangerous initiative that will result in adult performers being targeted and harassed by a digital mob. This is why thousands of adult performers and advocates, and even some of those who supported Los Angeles' Measure B, have come out against Proposition 60."   Over the past month, five of California's largest papers have endorsed a "no" vote on Prop 60.  For more information, visit www.StopProp60.com.
