YNOT Grand Prix Qwebec: Canadians Take Canada

MONTREAL – Without the heavy-hitter European drivers in attendance, Canadians dominated Thursday’s YNOT Grand Prix on their home turf.

Canadians also are pretty good at hockey, but YNOT.com isn’t a sports gazette so we’ll leave that coverage to the professionals.

Three Canadians added points to their season totals during Thursday evening’s official opener for the Qwebec Expo trade show.

In order, first through third places went to Seb from MindGeek, Simon from Action Payout Services and Erik from YourPaysitePartner. Seb practically smoked the track with a best-lap time of under 30 seconds. The 10 points he picked up with the win put him firmly among the top contenders for the season’s $1,000 cash prize, which will be awarded after the Prague race Sept. 20 during the European Summit.

While the action was fast and furious, as usual, this year’s Montreal event proved a disappointment to some: Everyone left the track with all body parts intact. No major crashes? How is that even possible at an event where the competition is always cutthroat? Evidently, some of the more vicious competitors didn’t bring their A-games.

According to Jay Kopita, race organizer and co-owner of YNOT Group LLP, the crowd was smaller than at other events on the circuit, but the intimate atmosphere at the track befitted the show’s intimate atmosphere.

“Everyone relaxed and had a great time,” he said. “Drivers would complete a heat, go make a few deals, and then return to the track and try to annihilate each other.”

The YNOT Grand Prix’s seventh season is sponsored by JuicyAds, Payze, Mistral, Traffic Mansion, FNCash and Studio20.

A few driver seats remain for the Prague race. To grab one or to inquire about sponsorship opportunities, contact Kopita by email or on Skype at LAJConsulting.
