Lioness Could Be Next Smart Vibe To Hit Market

BERKELEY, Calif.—The Lioness—currently crowdfunding on Indigegogo.com—is expected to be the next smart vibrator to hit the adult market. Developed by a team of entrepreneurs, led by CEO of Lioness Liz Klinger, the Lioness is teamed with an app to track a user’s information in an effort to tap into each body’s unique sexual responses. “Discover things you never knew about your own, unique body—what you like, dislike, and would like but don’t know yet,” the Indiegogo.com campaign reads. The team of creators did they work at Skydeck, an incubator for startups located on the campus of University of California, Berkeley. Skydeck is a collaborative venture between the school’s College of Engineering, the Haas School of Business and the Offie of the Vice Chancellor for Research. The team’s goal was to create a vibrator and app that will help create a place there women can track their own data, as well as freely ask questions, even anonymously, about their sexual curiosities. The vibe nd app took two years to develop, Klinger told The Daily Californian, the student newspaper for UC Berkeley. “We should have better access to this information when it comes to our own body, to know ourselves better,” Klinger said in an interview with the paper. “We wanted to create a product that could serve that purpose.” The Lioness was fully funded in a matter of days, but the campaign continues for another week.
