Kay Brandt to Hold Casting Call for Adam & Eve Feature

LOS ANGELES—Director Kay Brandt will host an open casting call this Wednesday for the lead role in a major Adam & Eve feature shooting in March. Brandt on March 4 will begin principal photography on Babysitting the Baumgartners, which is her adaption of the New York Times bestselling novel written by renowned erotic author Selena Kitt. The casting call on Feb. 17 will be for the role of the babysitter. Auditions will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Free Speech Coalition offices at 8399 Topanga Canyon Blvd. Suite 302, Canoga Park, 91304. No RSVP is necessary but for questions or sides, contact Brandt at sublime.madness@gmail.com. The babysitter at the heart of the story is a 19-year-old girl named Veronica, or Ronnie in the book, who goes to work for the Baumgartners and finds herself in a kinky love triangle. “She’s the star and the movie revolves around her,” Brandt told AVN. “So this girl has to be able to act and handle a large amount of scenes in four days. Her character has 10 scenes out of the 12. I’m looking for someone with a good attitude who is very professional that is going to see this as an amazing opportunity.” The ideal candidate would be “brunette and petite,” Brandt added. “I can’t have someone with a lot of piercings, a lot of tattoos or breast implants.” Brandt said the Baumgartners will be played by Anikka Albrite and Ryan Driller. Whoever gets the part of Veronica could position herself for a continuing role in the coming months and years. All of Kitt’s Baumgarter books became USA Today and New York Times bestsellers and are ripe for film adaptions, Brandt noted.  “This character has to be able to come back,” Brandt continued. “The beauty of this book is it’s about a poly couple who are madly in love and has the hots for the babysitter. They invite her to their beach home for winter break and they seduce her and it becomes a three-way love triangle.   “It’s definitely a journey they take emotionally, physically and psychologically. Selena calls it a coming of age story. “When Selena wrote the book she crafted a well-written piece of erotica. It’s not that the story is especially complex or the characters especially well developed. It’s just very believable, very well written and it put her on the map. She was able to build an empire based on this series.” Kitt has given Brandt her full blessing on the adaption and is even consulting with the veteran director on the casting. In addition, Kitt, who has sold more than two million books worldwide, has agreed to promote the movie through her various media channels. Brandt wrote and directed Safe Landings last year for Adam & Eve, adapting the screenplay from her book of the same name. The movie received six nominations for the 2016 AVN Awards, including Best Director-Feature, Best Drama, Best Screenplay, Best Marketing Campaign and two Best Supporting Actor nods—for Xander Corvus and Marcus London. Safe Landings was released as an e-book last summer through Kitt’s Excessica Publishing. Brandt, who has written, produced and directed more than 40 titles since 2009, is also a bestselling author on Amazon.com with eight erotic novels already on her resume.  She suggested this film is not the typical babysitter porn movie.  “This has a more romantic feel to it,” Brandt said. “They get emotionally involved with each other, not just sexually, and it’s the emotional involvement that sells, the fact they really care about Ronnie. “They are really good to her during her journey to the beach house and they introduce her to this very naughty way of life and then they release her at the end. It’s got this story arc that happens as this girl slowly opens her eyes to what the Baumgartners are inviting her into and when she lets herself go into it it’s a journey.”
