Kink.com Directors Celebrate Multiple AVN Awards Nominations

SAN FRANCISCO—Kink.com has tied up a number of AVN Award nominations over a range of categories that acknowledge both its films and its business acumen. Kink.com itself is nominated for Best Alternative Site and Kinkydollars is up for Best Affiliate Program. Maitresse Madeline Marlowe, head of the company's Femdom division, has been nominated for Best Web Director. Marlowe, along with fellow Kink.com director Fivestar, shared director credit on one of the company's two Best BDSM Movie nominations: Whipped Ass 8. And the company’s second Best BDSM Movie nomination, for Hogtied 8, is a score for Kink director James Mogul. “To get this level of recognition from AVN is tremendous,” said Marlowe. “We don’t do a lot of DVD releases, so this really speaks to the quality of what we’re doing. Shooting vital and compelling Kink content isn’t just about business to us, it’s about engaging the community and celebrating sexuality. It’s wonderful to have that recognized so forcefully.” Directors Marlowe and Fivestar are also both fixtures in the San Francisco independent film scene, as well as the BDSM community. While Marlowe’s work in and out of the Armory is well-known, rising director Fivestar is quickly making a name for herself, and is heading up Kink.com’s soon-to-launch VR product. The two have been producing together for several years. “As a team, we never want to rest on our laurels,” said Fivestar. “We want to always be pushing forward, with new concepts, new technologies and new ways to engage the viewer. We’re very excited for 2016.”
