Joanna Angel Talks With Thrillist, Cheers Xmas With Exile

LOS ANGELES, Calif.—Joanna Angel has had her share of mainstream attention this year, what with the furor over her Ronda ArouseMe parody movie. And today, just as she releases her first title through Exile Distribution—How the Grinch Gaped Christmas—the BurningAngel impressario is featured in a long, entertaining interview on Thrillist.com. In the piece, Thrillist reporter Dan Gentile gets Angel talking about a subject that will interest pornographers across the land: how to feed their cast and crew during a shoot. As befits her reputation for being a savvy businesswoman, Angel keeps a close watch on the bottom line. "I always get water and Coke Zero. And I'll get a small amount of Red Bull that I keep hiding somewhere. ... I keep it for the crew because they're working from 10 a.m. to midnight."Among her practical tips: "Grapes are great because you can leave them out all day, and they're okay, not like strawberries." And when it comes to really treating the BurningAngel team, Angel says, "On a special day, my boyfriend will come by and make tacos. He's really good at it. Everyone gets really excited when he walks in." Speaking of Angel and her man—adult performer Small Hands—they're both featured in the new seasonal special. How the Grinch Gaped Christmas also features Alby Rydes, Krissie Dee, Amber Ivy, John Strong and Michael Vegas. Angel does a humorous turn as the devious and deviant Grinch, who plots to ruin Christmas for the poor citizens of Whoreville by stealing their gifts and ruining their festive decorations. But the people of Whoreville don’t care, because as in the original Dr. Seuss Christmas story, all they need is each other. “Who wouldn’t want to escape to the land of Whoreville, where no matter how bad things get, you’ve always got each other … in every position imaginable?” Angel said. “I had so much fun with this character,” she added. “Getting painted up in green and ruining everyone's Christmas, then, of course, finding a greater meaning of it all, through anal sex. It's the perfect Christmas movie."
