Killer Targeted Porn Stars Malena Morgan, Jenna J. Ross

COLUMBUS, Ga.—Anybody remember Alison Parker and Adam Ward? They were the reporter and camera operator from WDBJ-TV who were shot dead on August 26 in Roanoke, Va., during a live on-air news segment. Supermarket clerk Brian Blankenship, 25, was definitely aware of the attack—aware enough that the day after the killings, he posted and emailed threats to take the lives of adult stars Malena Morgan and Jenna J. Ross in a similar manner. "I hope you have protection … I have a 9mm and a shotgun your dead bitch and you won’t see me coming." Blankenship, as "Wrestlemania17," emailed to Morgan, adding that he would "periscope you’re undoing it’s raw and I will take my own life after you’ve life is gone." Another email stated, "When you walk out of your house and see me it will be too late ... your next periscope will be your bloody head on a stick ... bank on it bitch." (Psychokillers have such bad grammar, don't'cha know...) It's unknown what set Blankenship off about Morgan, but he emailed at least 10 such threats to the woman before he was finally confronted by his employer, Publix Super Market in Columbus, after the company received complaints about a video he'd posted voicing the same thoughts. The FBI also became involved, and on October 8, he was arrested for "transmitting in interstate commerce a communication threatening to injure an identified individual." The affidavit which led to Blankenship's arrest can be seen here. As a result of Blankenship's threats, Morgan closed several of her social media accounts. Also caught up in the affair was Jenna J. Ross, a good friend of Morgan's, and it's believed that because of that friendship, Ross was also targeted by Blankenship, who posted that he had "drove malena morgan off periscope" and that "Jenna j Ross is NEXT." "Because she’s my best friend he decided to come after me as well. By proxy, I became target number two," Ross told former adult star Aurora Snow, writing for The Daily Beast. "When Malena blocked him on social media he couldn’t get to her anymore, so he turned it around on me. The best way to hurt her would be to hurt me. "It was weird, he kept asking us to send him money. He seemed emotionally disturbed but he didn’t seem like he had the means to execute his threats," she added—but as it turned out, she was wrong. When police interviewed Blankenship's parents, they found that not only had he also threatened to kill every member of his family, but they recovered a loaded .380 semiautomatic pistol from the home. In the Daily Beast article, Snow revealed that she too had been threatened several times while still performing in adult videos, and quoted UCLA psychology professor Dr. Paul Abramson that, "Now it seems that a woman’s [porn] occupation can preclude [a person being charged with] the crimes of rape, sexual assault, and harassment. She is either 'asking for it,' or the evidence for consent would be similar for that of rape. Her profession is the invitation for murder." So, to quote Michael Conrad's character on Hill Street Blues, "Be careful out there!" Pictured: Malena Morgan.
