Cheesemaker Insulted to Be Compared to Pornhub

PARMA, Italy—Boy, ya learn something new every day, don't'cha? Today we learned that while just about everyone puts parmesan cheese on their pasta, there's a specific mix of parmesan called Parmigiano-Reggiano that even has its own consortium to push sales—and to describe its product as "The King of Cheeses." So what could that possibly have to do with adult website Pornhub and its latest subscription streaming service Pornhub Premium? Well, see, there's this commercial Pornhub created, which features a man and a woman shopping for groceries in the cheese aisle of their local store. "Why don’t we get this aged Parmigiano-Reggiano?" the man asks. "When did you become such a foodie?" the woman responds, laughing. "Look, they say it’s the Pornhub Premium of cheeses," he innocently answers. The 22-second ad ends with the woman just looking around, incredulous. Seems that the Parmigiano-Reggiano Consortium found the ad a bit incredulous itself. "Lawyers for the association are investigating whether they have grounds to take legal action against Pornhub for supposedly tarnishing the name of their treasured cheese," reported The Guardian UK. "In a statement released on Wednesday, the consortium branded the advert 'not only distasteful and unacceptable, but offensive for our producers and their work.'" The Consortium was, according to DailyMailOnline, "outraged by the association and has accused the website of damaging their product by associating it with 'vile' pornography," and that the group would also ask for 'an immediate intervention of the Italian and European authorities to protect the image of the Parmigiano Reggiano'." Now, that's marketing!
