Police Cite Former OSU Student for Filming Nude Vid in Library

CORVALLIS, Ore.—According to numerous news reports, the campus of Oregon State University is currently abuzz with chatter about a 17-minute "peep show" shot by a former student last fall that was subsequently uploaded to Pornhub (though not by the student apparently), where it garnered a reported 70,000 views or so before being taken down. Now, the former student, 19-year-old Kendra Sunderland, has been cited for public indecency by Oregon State Police after they were reportedly "tipped off" by someone. (As if someone at the OSP doesn't look at Pornhub. Uh-huh.) In the video, of which we have only seen pixilated stills, courtesy of EveryJoe.com, Sunderland is seated at the school's Valley Library surreptitiously filming herself topless and with her pants pulled down (underwear on), engaging in light masturbation for the camera, which looks to be of the laptop variety. She occasionally peers around to see if anyone is in the vicinity, though other reports indicate that some students can be seen walking by in the background. That's the extent of the so-called porn video that has apparently rocked the school, and causing spokesman Steve Clark to publicly claim in the school's defense, “To my knowledge, there have not been any other instances of an adult video being filmed or created on campus." According to the NY Daily News, "[Clark] called the video 'very unfortunate' and said the school, whose sports teams are named the Beavers, 'does not condone such behavior.'" Leave it to the Daily News to make the "Beavers" reference. The paper also reached out to Sunderland for comment, with no success. The school says she was a freshman at the time of the taping, studying human development and family science. In terms of human development, EveryJoe described Sunderland's own development thusly: "Her curves, specifically, are ungodly." Most would have to agree, and so it is quite possible that someone in adult entertainment will extend a public offer to the adorable and fun-loving exhibitionist in the near future, assuming they know where to find her. Regarding the public indecency charge, Oregon law states: A person commits the crime of public indecency if while in, or in view of, a public place the person performs: (a) An act of sexual intercourse; (b) An act of deviate sexual intercourse; or (c) An act of exposing the genitals of the person with the intent of arousing the sexual desire of the person or another person. However, there's a good possibility that Sunderland may escape punishment on the ground that she was not "caught in the act," a frequent requirement for conviction of that type of law. A just-published article on golocalpdx.com states that Sunderland was "turned in by a student at the university," and further reports of the video shot by the former student, "The domain the webcam was produced through, Reptcams, is based in Ocna Mures, Romania, and owned by Gligore Marian Stoia, according to a report by domaintools.com. Lively discussions on online forums such as Reddit indicate some students grapple with the decision to 'cam' in order to offset the costs of their tuition." Camming, as a burgeoning form of sexual expression and connection, is of course nothing to be ashamed of, though practitioners probably want to at least try to avoid piquing the interest of law enforcement or touchy fellow students who snitch.
