NBC Publishes Stories, Lists About Porn Stars, Porn Powerful

LOS ANGELES—As has become an annual tradition in the newsrooms at 30 Rockefeller Center (aka 30 Rock), the home of Comcast-owned National Broadcasting Company, a slew of porn-oriented stories see the light of day each January, a time of increased scrutiny of the controversial (and yet beloved) adult entertainment industry, if for no other reason than that January is the month when the industry holds its most popular trade shows and fan events, including of course the world renowned AVN Awards. This week and last, as the Adult Entertainment Expo 2015 at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas is set to begin, CNBC.com and NBC.com have published a number of articles and lists that throw a spotlight on the industry and its most powerful or popular players and stars. It’s all meant to be a cumulative Who’s Who of the industry, and in that regard readers will judge for themselves the accuracy of NBC's various assessments. Perhaps the most-clicked-on story will be CNBC’s “The Dirty Dozen: Porn’s Biggest Stars,” a title that pretty much sums up what the network intends to deliver, starting here. In an endeavor to add some timely information to the piece, we have made our own list of CNBC’s biggest porn stars, along with where they will be signing at AEE. That list is, as follows: Jada Stevens—ArchAngel Dani Daniels—Jules Jordan Video (also on Vivid Radio at 2pm Wednesday with Ash Hollywood) Lisa Ann—Ppromoting her new business with Jayden Jaymes and will be on a seminar panel Dana Vespoli—Evil Angel Chanel Preston—Evil Angel Jessa Rhodes—Reality Kings Anikka Albrite—Jules Jordan Video Skin Diamond—Evil Angel Riley Reid—Jules Jordan Video Asa Akira—Wicked Pictures Bonnie Rotten—Evil Angel, Digital Playground, Girlfriends Films for Mental Beauty Aaliyah Love—ATMLA booth But CNBC did not stop with the top performers; once again, they have put together a list of “The most powerful people in porn,” which starts here. Information used to compile the list, writes NBC’s Chris Morris, was culled from “a variety industry insiders, ranging from executives to stars.” In yet another article on the industry, Morris takes a stab at evaluating the current state of the industry in a piece with shifting headlines, currently titled with the optimistic, “Things Are Looking Up in America’s Porn Industry.” And last but certainly not least, there is CNBC’s “Small Business” profile titled, “Ten-hut! Welcome to boot camp for porn stars,” which takes a nice look at superstar Lisa Ann’s entrepreneurial chops. That’s the lot of it from the NBC family … for now.
