'12 Inches a Slave' Measures Success of Mainstream Counterpart

CHATSWORTH, Calif.—The big winners at last night's Academy Awards presentation were Gravity, Dallas Buyers Club and 12 Years a Slave. What does this mean to the adult entertainment industry? While it's anybody's guess how many of this year's Oscar nominees will eventually bear porn parody fruit, there is one title that already has. We were reminded of that fact—though we needed no such reminder—by a press release from Hot Mess Entertainment and Exile Distribution, which streeted the provocatively titled 12 Inches a Slave. The team behind 12 Inches a Slave took the initiative to send out an eflyer (pictured above) to both adult and mainstream movie-makers to congratulate the team behind Best Picture winner 12 Years A Slave. "We like to think of our effort as a sequel of sorts, because it shows how far the black man has truly come," said Howard Levine, the Exile executive who distributes the title. Further inflaming race relations, he added, "Every white woman I know wants to be with a hung black man. It makes it hard for a smaller Jewish man." While 12 Inches a Slave has nothing to do with slavery, it features five white women "chained to black dick," as the packaging boasts. While AVN.com hasn't yet received a review copy of the title, 12 Inches has received favorable coverage. A writeup on Die-screaming.com called it an "expertly crafted and intense porn film that fires on all cylinders," adding "it delivers on everything you'd expect from the big-black-dick genre." The site labeled it "Premium" and "Highly Recommended." While Levine and the 12 Inches producers would have appreciated a chance to share a slice of pizza and take a selfie with Ellen DeGeneres and the members of the Academy, they still feel warmed by that Oscar glow. "Our 12 Years brothers know our heart was with them, and we'd like to think we had at least a little to do with the publicity around their success," Levine boasted.
