Porn Shoot Has Univ. of West England Planning Legal Action

FRENCHAY, England—A local man has officials from the University of the West of England in a tizzy after it was discovered that he had shot some homemade porn on the university's Frenchay campus that was then uploaded to his website. The school is now promising legal action against the man, who is clearly identified in the video title. According to the Bristol Post, "The campus and students are clearly visible during the 23-minute video, entitled Johnny Rockard at University of West of England in Bristol Student pick up and public sex with horny Xzena." The video was apparently shot using several locations on the campus. "In it," reports the Post, "a man wanders around the campus among unwitting students telling the viewer he is looking for a girl 'who wants to earn some money and have some fun.' He soon approaches 'Xzena,' who claims to be a third-year psychology student aged 22. She chats to him on one of the main thoroughfares of the university campus with numerous students seen walking by. "Later she performs a sex act on him in broad daylight by the gates to the campus. "A few minutes later the couple are seen on a bus to Bristol city centre where she again performs a sexual act, before a third sex scene shot on the stairs leading to the flyover above Nelson Street." Alleging 40 years in the adult entertainment business on his website, the Brislington-based Rockard claims to provide a variety of model hire and content production services. We looked for the contested video on the site, but could not find it. Rockard also claims to be "probably the most globally publicised and promoted UK name in adult entertainments in current times ... reaching out to an audience of millions via over 2000 websites around the world," but despite his global notoriety, we have only just learned of his existence, as has the university, which says it plans to become more closely acquainted with Rockard ... in court. "I am appalled that the university should be subject to such behaviour from someone with no connection to the university, resulting in a false and misleading representation of the university," said UWE Bristol vice-chancellor Steve West. "We have worked with the Students' Union, staff, our on-campus security, have involved the police to investigate and have taken legal action." Rockard, who was contact by the Bristol Post, insists that he has broken no laws, telling the paper, "It is a public space. If I was in their buildings they could take issue but it is public land, so I have not breached any law." Officials at the school also indicate that the footage appears to have been shot during the summer break, but added that some students would still have been present. According to the student union president, "UWE Students' Union are deeply concerned that this act has happened campus and are aware that UWE are fully investigating and taking legal action." Whether any laws have in fact been broken is still to be determined by the police, who remain noncommittal on the point, telling the paper, "We are investigating an allegation that somebody has gone onto the campus grounds and made an adult film with a suspected female actress in a public space. We are currently looking into this incident and whether any offences have been committed."
