Teacher's Assistant Sends Porn to Students Instead of Math

LOS ANGELES—It's a lesson every one of us should have learned by now but few of us has. Never hit "send" on an email or tweet without first double- or even triple-checking that any files attached are the ones you want to send. Not doing so will inevitably result in disaster, which is exactly what happened to a University of Iowa teacher's assistant. According to kcrg.com, "A University of Iowa teaching assistant on Tuesday reportedly sent nude photos of herself by accident to students in her class, and UI officials now are looking into the incident and taking 'appropriate action.'" The unnamed TA meant to send answers to some math problems, but instead her students received a series of nude shots of her and her boyfriend that may have been taken while they were sexting. A couple of shots with faces and other parts redacted can be found here, along with some tweets sent out in the aftermath of the snafu.   According to Total Frat Move, "The images are from a video chat that is quite sexual in nature. It appears that two people are 'cyber-sexing' from different locations using video equipment. Both are nude and, well, 'engaging' themselves in a sexual manner. They appear to be having a grand time. Furthermore, some of the images are in .gif form (short, animated clips)." The email with the images mistakenly attached reportedly went to 80 students, some of whom tweeted about it afterwards. "Awkward moment when one of the TA's for my math class sends out screenshots of her VERY 'private chat' to all of her students," wrote one. Another one commented, "Class with the most famous TA in University of Iowa history starts in an hour and a half. Wish me luck! Should I ask for an autograph?" Still another one tweeted, "I predict a high attendance rate in this class for the rest of the week. You gotta feel for this poor girl, though. It may be a rough semester for her." And another reported today, "The TA was teaching her 7:30 discussion session this morning trying to act like nothing happened but clearly very rattled. No one said anything about it but it was just extremely awkward." UI police said they are not investigating the incident and a UI spokesperson commented, “This incident was inappropriate, and the university will look into it and take appropriate actions under our policies and procedures."
